So I was doing some research on my bc pill (dianette) and oy my goodness it has just scared me!

This pill is band in the US first of all! I mean when I was put on this one 7 months ago my dr said that they won't keep me on it long because kit couldcause liver damage if taken for to long. Considering I was of the mind that I wanted clear skin for my wedding and therefore knew I would only need up take this bc for s year I didn't see a problem.

After some searches I have now seen that it can cause fertility problems and can take months and I mean serious months to get your first af!! Seriously I am annoyed, I was hoping I could come off on May and maybe be so lucky to fall pregnant on our honeymoon.

In light of the above and the fact that a combined pill seems to give me migranes with auras ( think your not supposed to take bc if you get them) I am going to come off the pill end of thus month- when this packet ends. This way I can start charting or at least get 1 af before wedding!

I will just have to treat myself to lots of facials in an effort to keep my skin clear!!!!

Am now also annoyed that I have to switch to condoms now. Sorry for TMI but I am not a fan as they don't ummm feel so good with them!! Lol

i know what you mean i hate condoms!!! oh bab its such a shame i think everything should be explained before things are given over all side effects should be given with the pill - my pill give my cysts when i was on it ages ago :( something i wasnt told about at the time but im putting it down to that!! its horrible what the pill can do to us all x x x x x  hope you get af before wedding and hopefuly not on your honeymoon x x x x

Cysts really?! See they really need to do a proper talk through! The leaflet in all the packs don't give you any real detail other than the standard pill information.

yer i was given them at 16 to regulate my periods coz i was 2 weeks on 2 weeks off and now i have cycts there around my cervix and front places thats how i found them! i had to have monitoring up there at that age incase they spread ect coz they all come at once but they didnt spread i was taken off the pill straight away and i had no more during monitoring and none on my ovaries but now i hav to look out for all signs as they are near the skins surface as well just incase they become maybe cancerous i was like wtf?!?!? they never said it was the pill but wierd how they took me off of it when it gave me no apparent side effects at the time but i was allowed to go onto a dif one if i wanted but i refused bloody doctors!!

Ah honey. If you're worried about your skin for your wedding - which a lot of people are - I can HIGHLY recommend having a facial map done by Dermalogica and getting some products in from them. (You can get them cheaper from the Jersey website if it turns out that you can use them - just let me know if you want any info  ) I know a lot of people that went to Dermalogica-stocked spas etc. prior to their wedding and within a few months - clear skin! It's worth the money - I never had "problem" skin but had the facial mapping and bought a couple of products and it was wonderful :)

Try not to panic about the Pill too much - if you've not been on it long, and want to come off it , then perhaps ask for other alternatives. Your doctor should know about any risks - and there is with ANY kind of artificial hormone/tablet/medication - it just depends on the percentage of people affected and if it will actually affect you (unlikely)

I had migraines with my pill, (thought it was microgynon 20 or something but I've been on so many I'd have to ask my doctor to check for me ) when I went on the mini-pill I think it was, back in 2005 and had to stop taking them (never had a migraine before that time, still get the odd one or two now though). Can't remember what I had it replaced with at the moment. I think we moved back to condoms for a bit - am also allergic to them, terrific! - but have used pretty much everything but the implant now as a contraceptive/hormone regulator device if you want any info on alternatives!

 Hope those rotten migraines stop for you. Syndol always helps me if I feel one "on its way" though not always a good idea to drive when you take that...:)
