Scan / ultrasound tomo

Bit nervous . It's an nhs scan so don't know what I will be able to find out. Does anyone have any questions it's worth me asking the person doing the scan incase I can get a heads up otherwise its 2-3 weeks for results from gp.

Is it just a general scan to check ovaries etc ?
I would just ask if there's anything noticeable that they see? Mine told me that all seemed fine after mine? Ask them what they look for etc x

Same here I asked If she could see anything or PCOS and she told me yes pcos on right side .. I think if I didnt ask then I would have had to wait to see specialist for results as they dont go to my doctors grr My FX for you tomo hunni and let us know how it goes xxx

I would ask too. My ultrasound is booked for the end of Jan, I'm going to ask them what they can see. They can only say they can't tell you and you have to wait so may as well ask.

If it's the trans pelvic ultrasound thingy then I'd ask as they do it, the lady doing mine told what she was seeing xx

Yes it's the scan to check general ovaries etc, also says they may ask about the trans ( internal ) one too. I'll take it all. Wanna know as much as poss. Ok thanks, I will ask them what they can see, what my ovaries look like, any blockages etc... Xx

Hi,

Good luck for the scan tomorrow. I have had loads, they usually tell you what they can see as they are doing it but you can ask them stuff too. Things that have been helpful from mine that you may want to ask are; size of womb normal, size of ovaries normal, any cysts, womb lining ok for that particular cycle day, you could ask if the ovaries seem mobile (this was something a sonographer checked once as it can indicate adhesions-adhesions and blockages cannot be seen in scans but she said the left ovary was not as mobile as the right so could indicate it was stuck down a bit). Also could ask how many follicles you have on each ovary. I sound like a control freak but I always think its best to ask as much as you can rather than worrying. Hope it all goes well xx

Well I questioned the sonographer loads, my womb seems all ok though at a Slight angle but ok, my ovaries are on the smaller side though, took a bit to get the right angle to see them... And only found 1 6mm follicle on right ovary. That's all I was told, Not really sure if it's good or bad but at least a follicle was visible. Was rather uncomfortable doing the internal scan as she had to push quite hard to see my left ovary. Glad it's done now... Now to wait to hear properly from my doctor now,

Well I got my official results back basically saying as was told my endometrium and womb are all normal but my ovaries are small and quiescent. Least there was 1 follicle (even if only 6mm) so there is some hope. I had my third acupuncture session today so hoping that will get my ovaries working on those follicles... I have the dull ache again in my lower abdomen again so must mean something, not expecting miracles but have to have hope... We have our first appt with our private clinic a week on Monday so all happening now xxx
