Hi
Didn't have a chance to come and say hello since yesterday afternoon! After complaining here about my sudden swollen feet and ankles I decided to call my MW who told me to go to hospital to be checked (as I also reported reduced fetal movements). We spent 6 hours in the waiting room before seeing a doctor  6 hours on a chair in a crowded over-heated room :wall:
They said the swelling was bad but normal at this stage of pregnancy,,, nothing to do about it (strangely enough it's much better today),,, and as soon as they started monitoring baby's heartbeat he seemed to wake up and he kicked like mad (more than 10 movements in 20 minutes!),,, typical 8)
They however booked me for a scan today to check the amount of liquid,,, which was fine :D
So now I just have to wait and see,,, I wouldn't mind him deciding to come into the world this weekend actually
But I'm not allowed to moan as I'm not past my due date yet

Just saw this thread Sylvie. I am glad your scan went well. Can't believe you had to wait so many hours....That is dreadful!!

I hope your little man decides not to stress you out and keep you waiting too long

Hi fuffins
Yes the delivery suite waiting room at the Women's is dreadful  even if the midwives are for the most part very nice and helpful (one of them gave us some sandwiches and drinks when she saw I was about to pass out!).
Luckily the day assessment unit where they do the scans is much better,,, just waited for five minutes in a very comfy armchair,,, it makes a big difference :D

Glad all is well with your LO.
I can't believe you had to wait 6 hours-that's shocking!!

What I hate about delivery suite is you wait in that waiting room. The water machine is usually empty. Then you see a MW who is lovely. Then often have to go back to wait on the uncomfortable chairs because they need your room, for a doctor who is free (they are often with ladies in labour, doing rounds on the wards or in surgery!)

Becomes very frustrating :x

happy to hear you and baby our fine :D
How our your poor feet now love?
sarah
