Scan today... one step forward, one step back! Update!

Blah! Had scan today to check placenta again. At last check my cervix appeared to be clear of placenta, fantastic. This time the sonographer (who really, really knew what she was doing - it took her seconds to find what she wanted to look at, it took the others a good 10 minutes last time) wants to recheck again because from one direction it looks clear, rotate slightly and it looks like there is an "accessory lobe" of the placenta touching the cervix.

So yet another scan in 2 weeks and if they can't make the call they will get the consultant to scan me herself. *SIGH*

On the plus side bub is looking much bigger, very squished. OH got to see for the first time too and I have a PICTURE! WOOHOO!

Great picture! I have one like that from my 28 week scan with James (I was living in Cambridge at the time and the extra scan at 28 weeks was the norm at the time).
At least you can get to see lots of baby with all these scans

I have my scan next week to check the placental site and I won't relax until I have had it, I am panicking that what has happened with you there happens here and that everything looks ok but isn't

I'm in Dunblane but hospital is in Stirling (same as Bee).

I may have missed something but at your first scan if your cervix was clear of the placenta why did they scan you again?

At my first scan (which turned out to be at 23 weeks) it wasn't and they booked me for a scan at 30 weeks (yesterday). I also had a growth scan at 28 weeks because of my wacky due dates and it was then they said it "looked clear". Fingers crossed for 32 weeks!

My mum thought it looked like it was blowing bubbles too until I reminded her it wasn't breathing air yet, lol. The thing that looks like a bubble is the cord

Good news! I apparently made a good job of filling up my bladder (ouchy!) and she could see all around the cervix - it was all free of placenta.

Was a lovely lady that did the scan so I asked for a picture. She did all the measurements today as well which was nice since it's the last time I'll see junior until he or she is born. Bub had a VERY full bladder just like me! Measuring 4lb 1oz
