Had an appoinment with the nurse this morning for my blood tests so i asked her if she could tell me my scan results as my doc is on holiday till a week on monday. the results came back as enlarged ovaries with muliple follicles inside them. she also said something else that was a really strange word but i cant remember what it was. and that this is all in line with polycystic ovarian disease she said i needed to sit down and talk to the doctor about it as he would be able to help me. i also had 4 tubes of blood taken. one for my thyroid, one for my insulin levels and 2 for my hormones. the results apparantly will be back fairly quickly but my doctor is away for the next week and i dont really want to see anyone else as hes been so good. so i have to wait till the 22nd to get the results. really really worried about it all xx

Hi Nicky,

I'm really sorry, you must be feeling so anxious! One thing on your side is that you have a doctor you like and who is helpful. Whatever you're facing I'm sure you'll be guided through it and get all the medical assistance you need. It doesn't stop you worrying though!

Sending you a hug ;-)

Xx

Hey i know exactly how you feel, i was told at the start of the year i had PCOS and i was very sad, my husband also has a low sperm count so together we are not a very good combination!
As for treatment for PCOS they are a range of options like putting you on a range of different tablets like clomid and have an operation where they help relieve some of the cysts. It is more common than you think, it affects 1 in 10 women. It's good to talk to others who have it and see what they've done. Good luck

Probably small comfort for you, but at least if they know what's wrong they can work towards giving you a better shot? I have some friends at the moment been trying for 2+ years, and all the tests normal which is frustrating in its own way! I guess the only way its not painful is when you get a quick BFP...

:hugs:for you.

Pcos is not the end of the world Hun although it may feel crappy. I got diagnosed last nov after no periods for 7 months and other various symptoms. I was devestated. I got put on metformin in jan and periods returned in Feb. I then fell pregnant in may. Maybe I was extremely lucky, but it just shows it can still happen for you. Metformin helped me lose 1 and a half stone too which massively helped! Keep positive Hun.xx
