Scan dates in Bristol

Does anyone know what the "usual" procedure is for National Health Scan dates - I'm registered under the bristol health region. I'm 8 weeks next week and have my first booking in appointment and I was expecting a 12 week scan, but various people have told me that it's not automatic?

I thought maybe seeing as I was 35 (also next week) they may scan me at 12 weeks?

Is there a sort of rule of thumb?

Hi hun, I live in Dorset and you only get a 12 week scan if you opt for a Nuchal Fold Scan (which assesses your risk level of downs syndrome.) If you want this you get a 12 week scan, if not you dont. Everyone gets a 20 week scan tho however. Why dont you ask your midwife?
