my spd was so bad I had to hold onto the bed as I got out for a wee, I've never felt anything like it, I screamed out in pain

try and swing both legs out at the same time.. its hell of a task but it does work.. if its any consolation.. ive had it bad for about a month and now its gettign better for some reason..i think mine is driving.. and getting out of the car with legs spred.. out of bed same.. sofa.. etc... im learning to keep my legs closed lol..

My sis had SPD very, very bad and she was told that under no circumstances should you ever let your hips get out of alignment. Make sure that when you get in the car that you sit on the seat first, facing outwards with your legs together and then pull yourself around, keeping your legs together. The same applies to any time you go from standing to sitting and vice versa and getting in and out of bed.

Hope you feel better soon

Poor you..   :(

I had it really bad last time.. and moving was horrifically painful... This time, so far, I am doing really well... but I have been having physio treatment, doing yoga and brought a ball to bounce on when the pain is bad...

I have to say it's doing really well.. I do have my odd moments where its really bad, but so far it's not nearly as bad as it was during my last pregnancy..

Is there anyway you can see a physio or have some sort of gentle exercise?

My yoga teacher had SPD herself and she tailors her classes in order to give you core stability which helps with the SPD. I don't know if you are able to do the same... but you should have to suffer through this...

I do swing my legs out together but it's when I rise up that the pain begins, feels like it needs to crack back before I can walk. I can hardly feel my legs when it happens too

Rang the midwife earlier and they have lost the referral so they have to do another but I won't get seen until late november

I have had this on and off but mostly round ligament pain.

However, I was talking about it to my friend this morning over coffee who has three kids and has had three C-sections with all of them. She suffered from SPD and so and opted to have c-sections because of it, but some other women in her ward also suffered pretty badly and refused a C-section as she was all into natural childbirth etc. Turned out that she ended up on crutches for six months afterward for damaging herself during the birth! Thats why they say its important to tell the midwife about this problem before you go into labour!
