Just typing up my birth story quickly before i go home. Hopefully internet will be fixed soon and can come on a bit more!!
Anyway i was induced on 7/3/08 at 8am was monitored and given a pessary. Then at about 4.30pm i was checked again and i was to far gone to be given a pessary so they broke my waters. as soon as they broke my water's everything started happening!! We went for a walk around the hospital and kept having to stop every couple of minute for me to hang onto the corridoor wall and breathe through the contraction. I couldnt believe how fast it happened!!! I went right into having contractions every 2-3 minutes and sometimes they were one on top of the other. we got back to the ward and i had a bath which seemed to help a little bit, as soon as id finished having a contraction i had to get out of the bath quick and get dressed before i had another one!
then i started on the gas and air which was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its supposed to wear off about 10 seconds after you stop it but it didnt with me so i was away with the fairies for hours! My mum and auntie were there and they were talking and i could hear them but my mouth and limbs were numb so i couldnt talk back to them.
they examined me and i was about 3 cm but he had a lot of swelling on his head and wasnt in the right position so i wasnt progressing very well. Then next thing i rmeeber they came and gave me an epidural and started me on a drip to get things moving. but as my hands were so swollen he had a lot of trouble getting a canula in so he neded up hitting an artery and i had blood squirting out of my hand! now theres a HUGe bruise on my hand.
Then the epidural wasnt fully effective and he kept having de-celerrations in his heart rate so they checked me and i was 5cm but there was loads of swelling on his head so they did an emergency c-section but it was really painful as the epidural wasnt as effective as it should have been so i was crying and shouting the whole way through! Then at 8 minutes old ryan stopped breathing and needed to be resusitated but hes fine now and hes a brilliant baby! I love him to peices and sooo wont be having another in a hurry!!!!!
so he was born at 3.19am weighing 6lbs 14oz
