Running??

Does anyone run? I've just started,more walkin than runnin at the mo but following a programme so will b gradually building up distance and speed as the weeks go on,anyway,what are the best trainers for running? And dies anyone know which sport shop has the machine that u walk on to determine which trainers are best for how u walk/run? I walk on the inside of my foot so need something supportive. Any help will b appreciated xx

Do you have a soccer sports anywhere near you hunny? They measure your feet and your foot shape and advise you which trainers are best. Goodluck with your programme hunny, i really miss running and as soon as my little miss is born ill be back to it x x

Yeah there's a big store in the city centre-I haven't got a clue about what I should b wearin on my feet. I haven't run since I was about 13 (15+ years ago) and never got past the end of the street in the past but am determined at the mo. My sister is running aswel which helps but not sure if she'l keep it up or not xx

If they have a running section they will have loads of different types, they are normally sorted by different coloured feet, so once you have been measured they will let you know what colour to look at, some stores have a treadmill that you can try them on too.
Its good your sister is running too, you can both help each other along. Are you aiming to enter a race? x x

My long term aim is to run the local half marathon but it's not until next June (this years is in a couple of weeks) but not sure about in between now and then,I think I may join the local running club in a few months xx

Go for it Emmamb. I love running. Before getting pregnant ran 3 times a week, then was running til 4 months pregnant. Started running again when Oz was 4 months old. Was running 6 days a week, but now try and do alternate days. Once you get some good footwear you'll really get into it, makes such a difference, my trainers are so bad at the moment and my feet are killing (I run on the beach with our dog). There's a shop near me that measures you and they're so technical about it they really know what they're doing.
