Since Austin's been able to roll from back-to-front he keeps doing it when I put him down for sleeps. I've been trying to turn him back onto his back but he seems to prefer sleeping on his front.

Is it okay to leave him or should he still be sleeping on his front?

If he can turn over again i wouldn't worry Keeley has always slept better on her front :)

Thanks, that's reassuring. They just go on about sleeping on the back so much it makes you worry.

Willow is always doing this but she doesnt like being on her front so she crys i normally find her with her legs sticking out through the gaps in her cot too, although she always sleeps on her side now she very rarally(sp)sleeps on her back only when she is in deep sleep.

as long as he can lift his head its fine hun.

oran can roll front to back 9only when he can be bothered lol) but not back to front but he sleeps on his side an somtime rols to his front, if he wakes up stuck he just makes grunting noises an wriggles like a seal holding his head up lol so I wold say if thats the way he likes it, let him be!! I cant wait for o to roll properly fir this reason, so her can get himself comfortable!!

rileystarted doing that sometimes shes liek face down i do move her but she just goes back the health visitor at weigh in sed they are big enough to move them selves if they cant breathe etc

i rolled up some cot blanket some1 bought me she puts her leg on it lol

Ruby has rolled and slept on her tummy from around 4.5 months...we were so worried and spent hours turning her, checking, turning, checking....

Now we let her nap on her tumy, and when she goes down @ 7.30pm we leave her on her tum. At 11pm ish when we go to bed, we turn her to her back and tuck her in with a thin sheet so she stays through the night on her back but 9 times out of 10 by morning she has wriggled out of sheet and is on her tum again

Nursery turn her onto her back when she naps, they check her every 5 mins in her cot, and she is ALWAYS on her tum, they put her on her back, and by the time they check her again, she on her tum :rotfl: :rotfl:

She sleeps with her face resting on her hands so her nose and mouth are raised above matress, but she always wakes with little red hand imprints on her face, is soooo cute

I really wouldnt worry, as long as he is happy and sleeping let him find his own comfortable position

I have to put a blanket rolled up so katie-louise doesnt put her feet/legs threw the gaps in her cot, but she always manages it!

Becksss my cot looks similar to yours lol :D

My cousin has an 11yr old son, and when he was born it was 'rule' and best for baby to be on their tummy, now it's their back, I think if you know your LO, you'll know best. If he can lift his head ok, he will always turn it to one side or the other and settle back down with a clearway. If you're concerned just let him nap like that through the day (if he naps) and then you can watch him and it might help reassure you he's going to be fine. Like Ruby's Mummy has shown, LO will sleep how they want to, so no point with all the turning them over hehe very best wishes

From everything that I've read, once babies can roll over and get themselves back onto their backs if they want to, it's OK to leave them to sleep in the position they choose to.

Just continue to put Austin to sleep on his back with his feet at the bottom of the cot and then he can choose his own position.

Love the piccie :D
