Finally got 5 mins to sit down.....ladies who are due this is honestly the truth I never believed people who said they didn't have 5 mins but is soooo true!

Anyway I was due to be induced on Friday as baby was measuring very big at 4 days overdue.
The consultant had said it would prob take about 48 hours! ...that is a lie inductions very rarely take less than 4 days!
Had a sweep and a process inserted on fri night ...had to stay in that night......no signs other than regular tightenings which were quite strong on the tocco thing but weren't painful...for reference don't get excited aBout these apparently if no pain no gain very common to have tightenings but mean nothing,,,,as u can imagine I was gutted when. Realized they weren't a sign of impending labour!
Had to keep the process pessary in for 24 hours....till sat night soo spent sat walking miles around hospital and then monitored after it came out I was 1-2 cm and favorable but still quite posterior cervix. Had to have a prostin inserted....overnight....nothing happened had another in in the morning and started having contractions....very mild but regular one every 4-5 mins.....this went on all day Sunday ....had a bath and then they stopped!
I was gutted!
Anyway had an examination and I was 2cm and cervix favorable so was put on list to have waters broken.
Had them done at 9pm Sunday ....which was hilarious.....for reference it's like peeing yourself ALOT! It was gushing out and I was trying to get from the bed to the toilet which me and dh were giggling at!
Was left to walk around for two hours but it didn't bring on labour...they told me this was quite common in first babies!
So they started syntocin at 11:30pm ..contractions started immediately ...oh because I was being induced I hadn't be laying on the bed with two straps on being monitored all the time.....no birthing ball or positioning at all...
Contractions were strong but just had some cocodamol to start then about an hour in they were coming much quicker and stronger so used gas and air.......they said the would examine me a 5:15am as they didn't wanna keep looking as it can be demoralizing....
By 2:30am I told then I had pressure in my bum....
They said this could happen not to worry about twenty mins later I needed to push they said no I just needed to breathe through it as I would not be anywhere near pushing ....
I told them I couldn't help it.....which is true your body sort of just overtakes you and I was pushing without meaning to....it was painful but almost felt more relief than jus contracting.....they were telling me not to push and they would examin me...this was about 3:15am ...midwife gasped and said ok your fully dilated and babies heads coming down.
Lots of pushing later ...and the crowning....which hurts more than I could ever express! Baby was born at 4:05am! The feeling of his body slipping out was amazing ....they held him up for my husband and he whispered in my ear " we have a son!" and he cried!
Amazing moment Altho I was in shock!
I had the injection to deliver placenta....I hadn't wanted it but as was induced they told me I had to have it! It made me shake like a leaf from the effects of it had to have loads of stitches for 3 degree tear ....
Baby Rhys was perfect hE weighed 8lbs 15 oz so no massive but a good size.....labour lasted 4.5hours and only had gas and air which everyone has been amazed with induced labours they told me people very rarely do it juston gas and air
It was the most amazing experience in the world but also more painful than anyone will ever admit to!
I would not want my next labour induced if posse as the whole process is quite sass full and u can't have the time at home or water birth or anything but it was safest for baby and I am so proud of myself!
I'll upload pic when I work out how to do that
Xxx
