Can anyone recommend some good ones? I have been looking into Lilypadz and they look like they would be good for me now, but not for when the baby is here, if I am to believe the reviews that talk about "catastrophic failures"! D: I have some little cotton things from Mothercare, but they are very thin. Will they stand up still when the floodgates open, or is there something better I can use? I am dreading having huge lumps under my tops!

I have tried the washable boots ones, lilypadz and several disposable ones.

By far the best are the tomme tippee ultra absorbant ones (disposable) the only thing I don't like about them is the amount of packaging... they come individually wrapped, it's really annoying I have all these little bits of plastic wrapping lying around, it can't be good for the environment!

The washable ones tend to move around too much in my bra as there's no way to keep them over your nipples!

Ive been fine with the mothercare disposables, 100 in a pack for £4.50.

Only leaked once and that was the first day i was at home.

I was breastfeeding for 5 days and then swapped to formula. Dont no if this makes any difference

I have found that the best ones are disposable. I like the tommee tippee ones the best. Have tried sainsburys and boots own brand and they are ok. Tescos are horrible, they stuck to my nipples and trying to get them off was not nice
I have got some avent washables but they are so bulky i wouldnt wear them under day clothes as you can clearly see them. I use them at night only.

Another lover of Tommee Tippee disposables here - they come in a grey box and you can get them in Tesco, Mothercare, Boots etc - they are fantastic, really absorbent but you can't see them through your clothes. I hate the amount of packaging too though.

I also like the washable Lanisoh ones - you can get these in John Lewis.

altho theyre comfier, washable ones i found got soaked right thru and still ended up with embarrassing wet patches on my top! i used the avent ones- oh and if u wear lycra-type tight tops u can see the shape of them so obvious- not very becoming!

i found at about 4 months (i think, cant remember now!) my boobs got used to the milk-making-but-not-leaking and i didnt bother with pads at all anymore.

sorry couldnt be more help.x

after trying several different types, both disposable and re-washable, I too love the tommee tippee ones. The only ones that work for me.

I didn't like the disposable ones to be honest, much preferred the washable ones and I had tesco's and avent ones. I wasn't wearing lycra tops though lmao... no one seeing the shape of that mummy belly :rotfl:

Maybe it depends on your flow, I'm like a bloody fountain when I get going and need something really absorbant.

Ugh, I tried washables for the first few days but they got soaked through and really irritated my skin. Johnson's disposables were my favourites. The tommee tippee ones I found were too large and thin and had a lot of packaging. The washable ones would have been ok after a few months when I wasn't leaking so much.

I use mothercares own which can be a bit scratchy round the edges but seem to soak up a lot! I was getting through LOADS for the first few weeks and still find I leak a bit on the opposite side to the one I'm feeding from. The TT ones are nice and slim and a bit bigger I think so you dont get such an obvious shape in your bra, the wrapping annoys me too but they are quite nice for keeping in your bag when youre out. I havent tried reusables though I probably should, night time use is a good idea, I wouldnt fancy carrying round soaked pads when I'm out in the day.

agree with most of the girls here. The tommee tippee ones were the only ones that didn't leave me with big sopping marks all over my clothes!

They're also quite slim and discreet.

Agree with Urchin though about the amount of packaging. I too have little bits of plastic wrapping everywhere! And they tend to go static and stick to your hands when you try and put them in the bin!

I'm a Tommee Tippee fan too. They have a stay dry feel to them so even if they're soaking wet they feel dry. Damn the wrappers though, especially at 4am in the dark.

Yes!! Sooo annoying!

Maybe we should send a petition to TT

i tried loads of different ones... avent, johnsons, tescos, boots, superdrugs, asdas and the only ones that I found were absorbent enough were the TT ones they are great although there is just no need for the amount of packaging! I had problems when in bed at night with the others as when lay on my side my boob would move from pad and leak everywhere but the TT dont!

I dont need to use them now YAY I only leak a little bit at night and just now and again during the day if she hasnt fed for a while. At the beginning I needed to change them really often though cos the leakage was crazy!
