Hi everyone,
I had a retained placenta with my first birth. I just had gas and air and delivered after 10 hours of labour. Everything was ok but then after my son was born the placenta wouldn't come out. I was prepped for theatre but in the end the Consultant injected something into the cord and eventually after losing 6 pints of blood it came out and I was ok. I had to have 3 blood transfusions and iron tablets for weeks after. Ive now heard that as this has happened to me before I am at an inreased risk of it happening again. Does anyone know anything about this, has this happened to anyone else and if it has, has it happened more that once? Its worrying me lots
Many thanks x
