registering baby

can someone tell me when you go to register the baby and you want the fathers name, do they need to be there with you??????????


when we went to register Paige, the register told me if the babies father doesnt go to register them, the baby wont be able to have his surname..

yes my boyf had to come with us to be on her birth cert as we are not married. his brother didnt have to tho coz he and his wife are married she could do it without him.

You have 6 weeks after the birth within which to register the birth. Both parents have to go if you are unmarried, but either parent can go if you're married.
