Recently I have prepared Ella's meals but when I give it to her she clamps her lips shut and just refuses to take it. I have tried different food, textures, temperatures, giving before and after milk etc

It isn't every meal just random..there isn't any pattern to it.

What do you do if LO refuses to eat? How long do you sit trying to give it before accepting that they just don't want it?

x

Yeah she just squashes it in her hands then runs it in her hair and eyes or throws it on the floor she wouldn't eat enough to fill her :(

Didn't want to read and run but I can't offer any advice, hope you manage to figure out why she's doing that x

Try giving her a spoon to hold in her hand. Sophie does it sometimes but if I give her a spoon to hold she will happily take the food. X

If you find a solution or anything helpful let me know as I'm having the exact same problem!! Tried literally everything :( xx

Distraction - toys to play with or an empty bowl and spoon of her own? Or can you give her some finger foods and feed her with a spoon in between? I think they just get to an age where they realise that they can control whether or not they eat and you have to trick them a little bit ;) Sometimes I do food backwards too - a bit of dinner, then a yoghurt or fruit pouch if he starts refusing that and then back to the dinner afterwards!!

Of course he still sometimes just refuses point blank and I have to give up, lol!

Thanks girls!

It's so frustrating!!

I'll give that a go DW see if that works xx
