I'm still wondering what to get Brody for Christmas, so I though we could have a thread where we recommend toys that our kids like.

Brody loves his:
Trike with parent pole We use this all the time, with mine you can steer with the pole so it's really easy.
AquaDraw (we have the thomas one, its great)
Wooden train track (this is actually Masons but they'll sit and play with it for hours...I have LOADS but am a bit addicted to buying more on ebay
big tub of plastic animals. This was £10 from oys are Us, has a giraffe, zebra, lion etc, he loves it :)

Hannah like crayons and books
little tykes piggy bank has been a fantastic buy she loves it
trampoline and enclosure

bam LOVES her rainforest jumperoo...

but a bargain for a stocking filler, is a noise stick les than a pound from birthdays. it looks like a aglow stick. Shake it and it makes funny noises..

bam absolutly loves it :D

At the moment Jake likes playing with his plastic animals, peek a blocks shape sorter, ELC maracas, Tomy hide and squeak eggs, V tech walker and any type of ball (he has a mini rugby ball, mini footballs blow up balls, foam balls etc  )

These are some bits Jake is getting for his birthday and christmas which I think he will love.

I bought the balls to go with this from ELC

Jake has also got a Rainforest Jumperoo which he used to love and I would highly recommend. He doesn't like it so much now as he is 11 months old and finds it more interesting walking around the furniture touching things he shouldn't be touching.

I think some of them are suitable from 18 months but most of them say from 3 years.

will she be "into" that kinda thing before she is 2?

the idea is, coz bams birthday is so near to christmas, im tryin to buy presents that are gonna lst till ntext year.

i dont want all her presents to be for the 12 month mark, as she will be bored stiff by the summer, i want things that are gonna be suitable till next crimbo.

Dont get me wrong i'll still buy her some things thru out the year. But i dont want to be having buy BIG presents thru out the year!

I would think you would be better off getting it for her on her 2nd birthday as I can't really see it being suitable before then (I might be wrong though):D

i just got my bam a trike for crimbo..

"smart trike" its reduced from 45 to 32 at argos.

Fair light aswell hun

I got Brody the Aqua Draw for his first birthday and he loves it, he's been into it for ages.

The Thomas one is from 3 years but we only put the battery powered Thomas on it once in a while and I supervise him when he uses it.

Im getting Joe the aqua draw thing, he will be 16 months at xmas.

For Elloise, she might enjoy the smaller ones better, she could play with them in her high chair.

Urchin, does brody not have to steer at all. I got a little tikes one when jess was 2 and it drove me nuts as I could push but she had to steer (but didnt).

luara - we have got Seren the tubbies aquadraw and she will be 2 in Dec. However it says on it suitable from 18 months. Seren has been drawing with pens and crayons since the age of 13 months, and I would have had no probs letting her play with the aquadraw at that age either. Plus they were on offer at toys r us ;)

One of the best things we got for Seren last year was her wheelybug, and a box of wooden blocks which she loves. We are getting her a trike with a handle for christmas, wooden play food, the aquadraw and plastic animals which she loves. Some jigsaws too (she loves them) and more art stuff. For her birthdauy we are going to get her a farm set, with building etc as she loves things like that.

wheelybug

Seren wasn't walking when we first got this, so she would walk round pushing it in front of her then as she got older she would ride on it. Now she starts in the kitchen and bombs it out the door and down the garden path. She will soon be getting a bit big for it so I think we will have to get the next size up next year ad then this baby can have her old one.

No, the handle turns the trike, Brody can try and steer if he likes, but I always win  I had one of the other kind when mason was little, they are a nightmare. This one is really easy.

 Thats a good point Lozzi. I've told everyone to get 12 months as Dans birthday is 3rd Jan. Might have to re-think that!

Oh I rarely get Brody toys that are made just for his age, I'm buying 3+ already BUT that's partly to do with the fact I have Mason's toys all over the place anyway so I have to supervise him closely most of the time (and Mason does too LOL)

The wooden train track Brody loves so much must be 3+ I think, but the way I can see it, with all the stuff we have lying around anyway...keys, phones, TV remotes, money etc the chance of a wheel falling off a train is much less that the chance of Brody finding a penny down the side of the settee.

We got Olivia the aqua draw for her birthday as she was always picking Brooke's pencils up and drawing.

Olivia loves it she plays with it for ages.
