Hello ladies,

So I have slowly been putting together a lost of ideas of ehat to get each person for xmas and have deccied to get hubby some skin care products from Clarins which he;ll love as he looks after himself (yay) lol
This will be DS present for him and I will get him a drill. I know its a weird gift but seeing as he's always asking my dad to borrow his or borrow someone else's I thought I might as well get him something he needs, wants and will make use of.

Only prob is I have no idea about drills can anyone suggest a good drilll please or maybe your OH's can help with a suggestion.
It'll be used for mainly small thing at home so will be for personal use so to speak as opposed to domestic.

I would prefer one that comes in a plastic box holder thing to keep it all in one place and tidy.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Oh...and what can I get my nan who already has EVERYTHING, is picky even though she says she isnt. Has a tonne of perfumes and hamdbags oh and it'll be her xmas and bday present all rolled into one. Really stuck on this one.

My o/h has this (so you can see model number)

It's lightweight and user friendly and comes in a case, you can buy loads of drill bits and extra batteries etc, I can't remember how much it was but you could google it. I'm pretty sure he got it from b&q.

I used to get my nan a really expensive bouquet of festive flowers and berries for Xmas cos I could never think what to get. In her later years she didn't bother with decorating the house for Xmas so it really brightened the place up. Or a nice hamper from marks or make up your own of posh food, quality tinned meats and biscuits. Posh air freshener from the white company etc? X

Thanks hun will look it up :)

Got nan a personalized longchamp bag last year and a orchid plant which she loves and apparently she said to my mum 'another bag' and complained the orchid doesnt survive in her flat lol and then she says she's happy with anything.
I really like the bouquet idea and would love to offer her a nice festive bouquet to be different from the normal bouquet as you have suggested but have a feeling it wont be very appreciated.
She's still young she's only 67 well going on 68 so its just akward.

OH suggested getting her a nice big yankee candle and a few candle accessory things but I tried that 2 years ago and didn't quite work out as planned.

grrrr to chosing something for her lol

My OH swears by dewalt drills, you can get them in b&q! They are quite pricy, but worth it cos they last ages! He uses his almost daily tho so defo worth it for him!

As for your nan, is she into beauty products and stuff? Maybe a little hamper of handcreams and nice smelly bits? If youve got an Avon rep, they've got really nice stuff all Xmas scented and even a wrap your own gift basket set with loads of little bits!

Omg your nan sounds bloody fussy lol! And she's only 8 years older than my mum!! :faint: maybe a gift experience? You know like a pamper day or wine tasting or chocolate making? X

My husband is a qualified carpenter and used to do kitchen fitting as a trade and he thinks Dewalt and Makita are the best drills about, especially the trade range.

Best and cheapest place you will find them in screwfix. They have shops you can go into or you can order online.

Thanks ladies will look into all of these drills online and then check amazon too to see where I can get the cheapest price.

Lol nan is ubber fussy. Its ironc she always says @I dont want anything' or a small thing is good for me just a candle and then when u get her something she makes faces or makes comments to my mum. It actually put me off buying her presents lol.

Yeah she's young. Mum's only 47 she thinks she's my sister sometimes which is a pain in the ass. Only 20 years differnce between mum and nan and 20 years between mum and I. Its a nuisance at times...believe me! lol

Ohhh I like the pampering idea. That might work a treat for both mum and nan get them to both go have facials and mani pedi or something like that. Mum would love that and nan cant complain she wasnt treated too. That might actually work.

Nan loves her creams and body care extra but will leave that to her she only uses Lancome creams and that's not in my price budget. £60 plus for just ONE cream...hummm def not for me lol

Been thinking of sticking to a budget to stick to for everyone, hubby and DS will be a small exception but cant go too crazy either as DS bday in Feb and then baby due March if it doesnt come early like DS so need to look after those pennies.

Whats everyone budget for pressies?

Lancome's a rip off, when you buy stuff like that you're actually paying for the rent etc for the posh shops they sell it in and all their advertising, rather than a superior product! I know I'm biased with Avon, but their products are the same if not better than the posh brands! I spend ages trying to convince my mum who's a massive elemis fan!

I love the idea of a pamper day tho, I might treat my mum and sister!

My hubby swears by his makita drill, not that he uses it at home though lol

You can check deals on groupon perhaps. Then they can consider buying their own beauty products from the place where they get their own pampering done?
I am rubbish with budgets. If I find something that I want to buy for them, then I will. Like it might be cheap or expensive but if I think they'll like it then I'll buy it. This years a little different because I'm not earning ATM (though I might get half a pay packet in November). My dad usually gets an Xbox game though cos he never wants anything else. He's 65 and addicted to his Xbox :oooo:

I think my dad would think an xbox is an actual
Box  I'm awful with budgeting too, in fact, my shopping is rather last minute and just grabbing bits I think people might like!
