Ok, so I had Mhairi at the GP yesterday with a high temp. He couldn't find anything and suggested it might be chicken pox.

So, yesterday afternoon one spot appeared at the corner of her mouth. Blister like, surrounded by red. And I thought oh, here we go, Chicken Pox!

So I expected them to start pinging up all over.......nope! We now have four blisters around her mouth, and nothing anywhere else!

So what the hell is it??!?!?!?

Lucy, does this sound anything like what Tom had with the HF&M?!?!?!

Her temp is still sky high and was almost 41 degrees at 4am this morning (just as I was about to give her the 4 hourly dose of calpol), I ended up having to strip her off and sponge her down coz I thought she was going to have a fit she was so warm :(

Please! Any suggestions welcome!

I would take her to A&E hun. Could be the hepatitus virus? The same one as coldsores. I was told that when I had Corey down the hospital two days ago. Better to be safe than sorry.

I do hope its just (if you can say that) chicken pox, and nothing more serious!! I think the peads at my hospital are just cautious as they hooked him upto IV drip for drugs n fluids etc... while they took blood to find out what the rash was, similar to what you discribe.

It wasnt in our case, they dont know what it was, it all dissapeared  so god knows what caused it - allergic reaction mabey!!

Anyways, im waffling. Go to A&E with a temp like that... they will look after her xxx

Herpies?! Mabey that was the one... it was one of those viruses... i sorry, im so crap.

hey hun lucyBee is away in Belfast..but id go to casualty personally if LO has a temp that high - its just way too high

I'd def go to A&E too hun with a temp of 41C. She could fit xxxxxxx

Thanks girls...........Temp is down and stable, we now have four sores around her mouth. I'm begining to think Impetigo.

I'm going to call NHS24 and ask to see the out of hours doc. If her temp spikes again, it'll be straight to A&E.

If I can get a cream for her sores, and keep her cool then hopefully we'll start to see an improvement!!!

I'll keep you posted!
