Hi ladies
Hope you are all well. Im really feeling it today, im in work and can hardly keep my eyes open, i feel so sick and fragile.
I like having the reassurance of symptoms but i have no energy at all today :(
Ive tried lucozade, ginger tea, buscuits, still water, crackers and nothing seems to be working. I decided against the sickness bands. Does anyone know of any other things i can try? x x

Ready brek was my life saver as its easy to eat & make, fills you up with a couple of spoons (which sometimes helped the hunger nausea) its easy (tmi) to throw up, and it digests quickly so even when sick loads your getting some of it in ur system. As for things that make you feel better unfortunately nothing did it for me I just had to battle through and eat even when I couldn't bear it, anti sickness tablets can take the edge off which helps a lot but they don't stop it. Only other thing I did was constant naps as I was always more sick when tired (it did mean I had to have 5 weeks off sick though). I don't think there is a miracle cure other than sleep and making sure you eat and drink little and often. Good luck with it hon it will pass soon xxxxxx

I've started eating a few nuts or a banana when I can stomach something and I think my energy levels are going up and they are meant to have vitamin b6 in them which supposed to help morning sickness. Grapes are also quite refreshing, you get so sick of dry crackers!

Mummytoadam,

When I read this I thought OMG thank god someone else feels as bad as i do. I timed ti pretty well as week 7 would be a nightmare. I have been sick each morning after i get out of the shower and then get a very horrible sick feeling for the rest of the day.

I find that drinking a fizzy drink helps as it makes you burp (tmi) and then settles the tummy a bit.

My mum said that if you eat water buiscutis throgh the day it take the edge off. TBH When i eat it generally does.

How long does this feeling last for? Any ideas ladies? xxxx

Hi Ems I think it varies from lady to lady I'm 12 weeks and still have it so its lasted 6 weeks and counting for me, and my midwife says I could be like it to 14 weeks, but some feel better much sooner. I think it just depends on each individual.

Sickness bands were the best thing for me, still felt a bit sick but wasn't so severe and worked for about 4 weeks. I know you decided against them but they really do work for some ladies xx

I might try and get one now, after feeling like this today, i wont be able to get to boots until Friday though x x

I'm sure the sickness does end. I've not actually been sick but have been really nauseas from week 6 and i'm feeling loads better these last few days (obviously i'm panicing now that my symptoms are fading means somethings wrong but hopefully thats just me being neurotic :p)

I found eating almost contantly helps, every hour or so, and lots and lots of water. with a pack of renee at hand to help with the horrible burps ofc.

really hope you feel better soon :)

Does any other shops sell those sickness bands other than boots? x x

hey hon I completely sympathise, yesterday I felt so well, managed all day without the sickness bands but felt overwhelmingly tired. Today it's back with avengance, feel so sick, mouth like gandi's flip flop, tired, crap and very sorry for myself!!! I actually got my sickness bands from a regular chemists, they're made by the brand "sea band" so I would think most pharmacies sell them. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!:petal: x x x

Hi M2A,

Been feeling pretty similar myself! Tend to find eating something helps for a bit but then nausea returns with avengence! Haven't tried the sick bands but when we saw the midwife at our booking appointment she said it can go on until around 12 weeks :-( so I may have to resort to them as still 5 weeks to go! She also mentioned some form of medication but that don't want to prescribe unless they have to!
It's hard to think we have to deal with this for weeks to come!! Oh well, if it means hopefully a healthy baby then it's worth it!

oh and let me know how you get on with the bands! Good luck hun, hope you feel better soon! xx

M2A thanks so much for starting this thread!! Its great to hear others are going through the same, when you see/hear about pregnant women you dont always find out about the sickness ect. But it must be pretty common.

I totally know what ur going through, i've been feeling sick all day every day for weeks, as in physically being sick, my stomach and chest are killing with all the retching, im so dehyrdrated i can barely hold a conversation.

Ive been finding it quite hard to keep positive especially when other people seem so happy for me.

I totally agree with every one else though, its defo all to do with being hungry, I only get physically sick when I start getting hungry, which is very difficult coz i need to force my food down, but i always feel better after ive eaten, all this and i've been on anti sickness tabs too, i'd probably be unemployed without those tablets.

Let me know how u get on with the sickness band, i've heard so much about them, but unsure if they would help me.

:hugs:

Hope everyones feeling better today, i wasnt this morning but im feeling better this afternoon. I was sick this morning then felt nausea all morning, after my lunch i was sick again but after that i had an xtra strong mint and it seem to settle my belly abit, might be worth a try ladies x x

No joy for me! feel just awful! I am praying this feeling goes soon! It is getting me down.

I feel like im dragging my feet everywhere. Im holding my stomach and Have my head in my hands on the desk 90% of the time. Can not go on with this. But have no choice! AHHHHH
