Has anyone got any remedies that work for longer than 5 mins that help with heartburn? It's driving me mad. Xxx

Rennie extra, lots of milk and ice cream worked sometimes. You can get a prescription if its relally bad

Cool! Thank you!
I am so tired from lack of sleep I've noticed I called this thread heartbeat instead of heartburn! Grrr!!!!

I had a little panic for you until I read what you had put...phew!! X milk is very good. X

the only thing that works for me is liquid gaviscon. But Im going through it like theres no tomorrow!

Ah thank you Sam's mum!!!

I'm going to buy myself a bumper pack of gaviscon today. Rennie aren't working brilliantly so I'll give gaviscon a go instead. I wonder if Costco do it so I can buy it in serious bulk load!!! Xxx

I suffered terribly with heartburn from weeks 20 to 34, tried everything, gave up and went to doctor he prescribed me Renatadine, it was bliss I wish I had gone earlier. BTW don't buy gaviscon etc, your doc should give them on prescription as you are pregnant

My hubby suffers very badly with HB and acid, He has to take medication for 6 months at a go but the only thing he finds works when not on meds is Malox, Iv not tried it yet my self as im very bad at drinking stuff i dont like but getting to the point where im gonna have to suck it up and give it a go :-)

I've tried them remegel and they seem to help.

Best thing I find is milk though

In my first pregnancy I had acid and heartburn even before I did the test!! And it didn't go away until the morning after I'd given birth! It was bliss that day!
But I suffered so badly with it the whole way through, I bought tons of gaviacon and gulped it like crazy, then at 30weeks discovered I could get it free on prescription! Durrrr!

It helped but only as a quick fix, but there wasn't anything else I could take. I lived off milkshakes and gaviscon, anything like chocolate or juice or fruit would set me right off, it was awful.

I definitely sympathise with u huni xxx I'm praying I don't get it this time because you just can't sleep with it can you! I used to have to sit upright until I fell asleep, and then my bf would wait til I was fast off and slide me down the bed! Haha x
