Really bad cramping, extremely light period.

On Saturday night i got really bad cramps, so bad i couldnt sleep and had to phone in sick to work on the sunday. On Sunday had very light bleeding, maybe even classed as just spotting. Monday morning I woke up and thought AF has arrived with full force as I woke up to having what i would class as medium flow during the night, and light during the day (had a couple of small clots) .
But then on Tuesday - nothing. Just pink when I wipe.
Just Did a HPT and BFN.

How can my AF be so light? It Never used to be.

Hi Piglet,
since coming off the pill my two afs have been really light aswell. There was only any blood for 4 days maximum and then 2 of those could only be described as spotting.
Pre-pill (10yrs ago!) my afs were really bad, so don't know what's happening now. I'm using opks this month because with such light afs, I want to make sure I'm ov'ing.
Bit worried my uterus lining isn't getting as thick as it should, but we'll see.
Is this the first af of yours that's been like this? And how long have you been off contraception?

Hi KJ,

I came off BCP in June, after being on it for nearly 8 years.
Everything was fine to begin with, got pregnant very quickly tho (by August) and had a miscarriage on 1st September 2006.
My next cycle was exactly 4 weeks after MC, and "normal" heavy ish. Then my next was only a 24 day cycle, and that was normal ish too!
But the last two have only been 2 days of light bleeding, and only 24 - 26 days apart.

This is gonna sound gross, but it doesnt smell normal either!

When I found out I was pregnant back in August, I didnt look out for signs or symptoms or nothing, I wasnt expecting it so soon. I did bleed for 4 days very lightly tho, a week before AF was due. I was sure it was AF at the time because I had never heard of implantation.

I cant even remember why I bought a HPT, it was just while i was out shopping for holiday items. I was in shock and kept it a secret until i started to miscarry in corfu.

I blotted it out at the time, and cant remember anything. How stupid am i??!! (not as stupid as that girl on deal or no deal yesterday!) lol sorry.

I've been using those cheepy tests off ebay - r they any good?

Hiya,

have you taken a HPT recently? I have heard of some people who continue to have light periods during pregnancy?

Or it could just be that the miscarriage has temporarily affected your system?

I'd probably go for a check-up with your Dr, because very light periods can be a symptom that your uterus lining isn't thickening properly, and you need this for the fertilised egg to implant successfully.

If my OPK don't detect ovulation this month and I have another light period, then I'm off to my Dr to demand tests!

yeah i took one this morning, but bfn.

According to my temps I ovulated about 10 days ago, but that doesnt make sense. I havn't been charting too religiously to be honest.

my temp went from 36.6 on thursday 30th, up to 37.1 on Sunday 3rd December. I then stayed high until sunday 10th when it plummeted down to 36.0. Then it went back up, then back down, and today i'm in the middle!! lol
