Quick question regarding recycling and rubbish

I would ring the council up but they take forever on the phones and my local councils website doesn't have it on there.

But my general bin wasn't taken this morning but it had like polyster and all that white thing you got out of boxes (had a microwave delivered) so can that be recycled?

They've changed the bins in my area, not sure if they are doing it everywhere in the country.

Grey bin for household general waste, green bin (which is bigger than the general waste bin! for recycling and the brown bin for garden as usual.

Its confusing. Perhaps I should just ring the council. I mean, I have a spare few hours.
