I was having BH this morning. The BH have now stopped but i've got terrible lower back pain. I do have SPD/PGP whatever you want to call it quite severely and that causes a lot of back pain but this seems different.
Im anemic and measuring a lot bigger than I should be so I do worry about preterm labour. My question is, is backache was a sign of early labour would it be consistent or would it come and go like contractions? Itt's very dangerous for me to go in to labour due to baby being transverse so it would be likely that the cord would prolapse if my waters broke so im just trying to make myself aware of what I should worry about and what I shouldnt worry about.
Baby moving around as normal.
thanks laides, i'm sure it's nothing but I like to be informed :)

Hi hun. I had this last week twice. I spoke to my delivery suite who weren't too concerned and I found having a bath also eased them off, as you know im also high risk for preterm labour so did worry me. But touch wood ive had no pains like that since last Wednesday morning if it happens again. Ring your midwife and just explain. Im sure they would bring you in to see if you were in early labour or not hun, the earlier you getseen the more they can do to stop it if you are in labour but it's always better to bet safe hun. Xxx

thanks careysmummy. Im wondering if baby is pressing on a nerve or something as the back pain is awful. It does all seem to have eased a little since this morning though i still don't feel right.

I did ring MAU in the end but they just said keep an eye on things, because I had an episode of diarhea this morning it seemed that they didn't want me near the place. I havn't got a stomach bug though its not like i'm contagious. If it get's any worse though i'll be turning up on their doorstep to be checked, I don't want to think i was actually in early labour and it could have been stopped had I have actually just been checked. I'm keeping an eye on everything though xx

That's good hun. As long as your keeping am eye on things. If it continues I would ring back and say you'd like to be checked as it's high risk. Baby could be sat on a nerve hun. Are you still getting lots of braxton hicks hun? If it helps hun when I went into labour with my little boy my braxton hicks were at the same time as my back pain in the early stages, the back pain eased when the braxton hicks did, I didn't know I was in labour at the time. I would try a bath (if you can) and see how you feel afterwards hun, if no better call back and insist xxx

Well I've spent all day having on and off BH and I've had 3 in the last hour. Back pain is ridiculous. Hubby not happy at all but I'm going to see how hinges are over night and hopefully everything will be back to normal tomorrow x
