did any one else feel real bad at first?

I felt like I had very bad morning sickness for two weeks. I was retching and felt weak. It did pass though. I would give it a bit longer (if you can) and see if it improves. If it doesn't, or the side effects become too much go and see a Dr (a different nicer Dr this time) and expalin that they are causing you problems. It may be that you have to try a number of anti-d's before you find the one that works for you.

I was on Anti D's for about 3 years and I don't remember grinding my teeth and not having energy to talk. You should have nausea but not actually throwing up everywhere. I would go back to your GP hun and see if they can change them. I saw in your other post that the pills you are on could affect the contraceptive pill. I was on an Anti D called Citalopram and it was brill. I had nausea and was off my food for about 2 weeks, had about 3 headaches on it in two weeks but that was it. It didn't do anything to my pill either. It doesn't sound right that you should keep being sick hun. Hope you get them sorted soon

I've been looking up about Sertraline and it looks like you have been prescribed them because they are one of the SSRI's anti depressants which combat depression as well as OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) which can include the feelings you have about your paranoia towards Kris. I hate it when doctors don't explain drugs to you.

SSRI's are best taken in the mornings and about the same time everyday. Mine used to mess up my sleep if I took them in the evenings. I was on Citalopram though (another SSRI).

Can I ask what mg they have prescribed you? Sometimes if you start on a dose of 20mg or more it can shock your system and cause some unwanted effects (like headaches and nasuea). I never really experienced this, but then I do have pretty constant headaches so I might not have noticed.

Looking at the side effects of the drug, some of it sounds like what you may be getting. Tiredness and dry mouth seems to appear a few times.

If things do not improve, or you feel just too ill, it could be that it's not the right drug for you. I have had to try a few to get them to work properly before settling on 2 drugs at the same time. Although I'm not on any at the moment coz I'm pregnant.

Everyone reacts differently to medication so it might just be the way you react for the first couple of weeks, but only you know how bad you feel babe. Make sure you are eating right and drinking plenty of water aswell, which will help flush the toxins out of your body xxx

Hi babe they are 50mg and i was told to take one a day any time. because iv been feeling so bad on them im taking them about 5pm so i can try and sleep the sickness of.
i felt like a complete zombie last night i felt like i was spaced out and didnt have a care in the world

i dont no why she would have give me some thing for OCD because i didnt even say i had jelousy.

i walked in said i cant cope cryed none stop

she said. you dont want to harm your kids? you dont want to kill your self? i seen her tick no to OCD with out asking me. she asked if i had family if i was getting abbuse from kris and if it runs in the family

she then said i need to start maedication that day and i would get a call in the next 3weeks to speak to a sycriatric(sp) nurse

After telling me what dose they have put you on I would personally say STOP TAKING THEM! The dose just sounds far too high - no wonder you feel like shit. You should change docs ASAP and see a new doctor babe xx

I really think you need to get a second opinion. It doesn't sound like a ferquent drug that is handed out in treatment of depression, and as she didn't quiz you properly or explain what the drugs main uses are, I would get a second opinion before continuing.

Dionne, I had bad side-effects for about three weeks.
Over the years I've been on several different types. Maybe this one does not agree with you. If i were you, I'd call your doctor and tell them how you're feeling. They may say that they're just side effects whilst your body gets used to the drug, in which case they'll subside. But maybe they'll take you off that one and put you on another.
Poor you - this is not what you need when you're feeling so down anyway.
Hugs. L x

I was just dizzy!

50mg to start off with is way to high like Sami said! I was started on 20mg and then upped to 40mg after a few weeks. I would go back and tell them to sort it all out. No wonder you're feeling so ill hun.

Hi I was on them for a while, I had two doctors and they both gave me medication i ended up getting rushed to hospital as I was taking both as prescribed and the Drs didnt realise, i was on 150mg!!! i was like a complete zombie, fainting all sorts they reduced it to 100mg then 50mg, came off them after a few months. But now i look back i dont think i was suffering from depression, just lack of support and not getting enough sleep, resorted to self help books and meditation, worked a treat for me instead of being doped up, hope your feeling better soon, But id defo call your doctor and see if they can lower your dose. sometimes i think they do the doseage wrong they start real high and lower it where they should start low and increase it. XkelX

50 mg is waaaayyy too high for initial dosage!

I always start off at 20-25mg if I have had a break/come off them and then increase higher SLOWLY if needs be. I was on 50mg when I was at my lowest and couldnt get out of bed and they helped me then, but to me it sounds like you dont need them that strong as they are making you poorly.

Id go back and see another GP and ask them to refer you to a psychiatrist hunny. In my experience they are much better at dealing with depressional problems as they are in the field and deal with it every day.

However, your GP was wrong to treat you like that and id make a very strong complaint as its totally unacceptable.
