Question regarding work

Just a quick question as I think I'm imagining it!!
Does your work have to give you paid time off for antinatel appointments? I'm sure with DD they did but I've just spoken to work to see if I can have the day off for my scan and they said no as there's too many people off already!
I'm prob imagining it but I'm sure they have too?! Anyone know for sure?
Feel abit gutted if I have to have a later scan due to work being a pain...

It says they have to let you have resonable paid time off for antenatal , but wether thay can be fussy as to when I'm not sure. Tell them that's it that's the only slot for you and go!

Still its a bit unfair, why do companies always seem to makes things difficult?

On my scan letter it doesn't say anything about if you can't make the appointment so I'm going to tell them it's the only time they can get me in! They prob won't believe me though, they are a nightmare to work for and will make it hard for me!!

I would tell them that it is the only time that they can get you in before 14 weeks which is the time they do the combined nuchal test and for downs - that is a realistic thing to say and that did actually happen to me with mine. Luckily my workplace is very good about the whole thing being a school.
