i want to know if there is a relation between staying active and going past due date???

My friend had her baby a few days a go and she was running 2-3 miles a day all through her pregnancy, she was 9 days over due!

I thought being really active would bring on labour?

I know it's up to baby at the end of the day but just wanted to hear other people stories?

Thanks xx

I was quite active - taking long walks/waddles (I certainly couldn't run!) and was 2 days late

I went 10 days over and was carrying on as normal.

I ran my dog around and agility course at two days past my due date!!

There isn't much you can do, baby will come as and when they are ready.

XX

I was going for 5 mile walks, walked to work evey day until I left at 39 weeks etc and I still went 10 days over x

I can't run either lol, I do walk though and im working until 39 weeks, I'd like to go over a little bit just so ive got a bit of time off before baby arrives, life is so hectic right now! But I know it will come when it wants, I was a bit worried I would come early with working so much and walking to and from my car but looks like being active or not doesn't make a difference zxx

My friend ran 5k a day with her dog up until she gave birth 8 days early.. she also had a emergency C-section as she wasn't dilating but 2 days later drove & now 4 weeks later is back running..

MAD WOMAN!!

A friend of mine was very active with gym, etc and went over by nearly a week I think it was x

Im not really very active and my eldest 2 were born on their due dates and my youngest was 2 weeks early.

I'm a dance teacher, taught 30hrs per week until 39 weeks (only stopped because it was the holidays), and was induced 12 days past my due date. :) I went through my entire pregnancy without any Braxton hicks, and not a single sign of my body doing anything itself. :D

Wow nicnax, that's impressive now I don't feel so bad working so late! I've not had any Braxton hicks or anything yet... Are you pregnant at the moment? xxx

I wasn't overly active but just carried on as normal and went 13 days over and had emergency c-section xx

I’m a FTM so can’t comment at the moment but I’m still running 3-4 miles a couple of times a week, swimming maybe a mile 1-2 times a week and walking to work every day which is about a 3 mile round trip. Now 31.5 weeks and I might knock the running on the head soon but plan to keep swimming as I hear it’s good for getting baby in a good position and also for stamina during labour J I’ll have to keep walking as I have no other way of getting to work and I’m working until 37.5 weeks. I am hoping that this means baby will show up slightly earlier or on due date rather than being late/needing to be induced and have heard that keeping active can help this but from the responses above that doesn’t seem to be the case! If baby takes after my super chilled out, sleepy husband I am not holding out much hope J Watch this space…

I'm 26 weeks with number 2, and anticipating another tardy one! Although, I'm enormous this time, and have a feeling it might be a large baby, so that may possibly make a difference. X

I've had three babies already. I've gone due date +1, +5 then +3 I'd say I was pretty active. I'm hope this ones early xx

I was pretty active towards the end of my pregnancy & I ended up term +15 my little boy was showing no signs of ever wanting to come out so I was induced! Good job he was 15 days late as he was tiny so if he came early or on his due date I dread to think how much smaller he would have been. Once he did decide he wanted to see the world he was here within the hour!

I worked 39 hours on my feet until I was 37 weeks pregnant and Oscar was 3 days early :) xx

I was active especially when i went over. Long walks up hills. Out in the car over bumpy roads. Bouncing on the ball. Only thing i didnt try was sex which apparently helps. I went 14 days over xx

Your due 4 days after me jd :) ooh there's obviously not really a trend is there lol, I just really don't want to come early but I know it's out of anyone's hands! xxx

was induced with my first so don't know when he would have come, but I was signed off work and on rest!
with my second I was active and she came +1
with my third I worked up until I gave birth one day before her due date! and carried on working when she was 4 days old (I am a childminder, so self employed and didn't feel the need to take leave!)

so I have never been 'overdue!'
