question for a friend-we're confused! doesnt take much

my friend had a positive ovulation test today and also a faded pos line on a preg test this morning, were confused at why this would be. can anyone help? x

Don't ov tests sometimes show up positive when you are pregnant?

Sure I have heard of people using ov tests instead of pregnancy tests......

Ovulation sticks look for a hormone that is almost identical to the hormone that pregnancy tests look for, so if you are pregnant you'll get a positive on both an ov test and a preg test. It doesn't work the other way around, though, because there is a special bit in the pregnancy hormone that the preg test looks for that the ovulation hormone (LH) doesn't have.
