question about income support

Hi. Im not sure if I'm entitled to income support or not and if you have savings it effects the claim or not. I've spent quite a lot of it on baby items but mostly in cash so worried they might think I've been trying to hid it. Wish I would have thought about this earlia. I was wondering if they would want to see bank statements and if they do how many months or years do u have to show. X

I called them the other day but after 20mins of waiting I hung up didn't wanna waste my time on hold if i wasn't lol. my card got cloned about a year ago so now I prefer to use cash then use it in lots of different shops.

They just asked me if I had savings, didn't have to send statements or anything. You are allowed upto 6k savings I think? X

I've printed the form off and it asks about savings and asks you to send statements from all the diffrent accounts and if u have d more than 16 thousand in the last 6 months.

You can have upto £6k before they reduce your benefit and not entitled if £16k or over. If you have had savings and spent them they will want to know any big purchases. If you say you have paid in cash and it shows as large cash withdrawals on your statement they may well ask but as its spent in baby bits I highly doubt they would say you spent it to claim benefits
