Progress!? Update

Some of you may have seen my posts regarding my low milk supply and having to top my LO up since she was a few days old. I have been trying to build my supply since and have tried prescription meds, pumping between feeds, everything. I started taking fenugreek on friday and my dh's parents were visiting so I took the opportunity to pump as often as possible between her feeds. Since monday she has only needed two top ups each day, and none so far today! Hoping for no more top ups. Alsowanted to give hope to the other mamas going through the same thing

Update! :

It's now been over 48 hours since I gave K a top up! Yesterday was really hard as she was never satisfied throughout the day when I have less milk, and it was the same for a few hours this morning, but she has been great this afternoon! Even had two naps! I was worried she was sleeping so well because I am actually starving her, but hubby is saying she is more likely just satisfied. I am hoping! Xx

As long as you smell like maple syrup apparently it is working! I didn't give k a bottle today but I am so worried I am starving her! Hopefully tonight goes better!

im going to get some of that when i get paid. tho im phasing out the formula and feeding more instead if i can get away with it. only had to do 3 bottles yesterday and she had 3oz at bedtime (4am) and only an oz the other times really.

Good job Bev! Dustbunny, she wasn't happy yesterday lol. Never satidfied between 11am and 9pm. I seem to have enough the rest of the time. Our lavtation consultant told us to try it for a couple of days and if my milk doesn't increase, then two bottles a day are fine. I will let you know how today goes!

Awww I can completely sympathise with the unhappy/unsettled days, I've had a lot of them lol.

yay thats awesome. i shall be able to buy some fenugreek soon and im managing to only top up 3 times a day max. Alyssa has breakfast from me and then i try to express some between breakfast and lunch while she sleeps. she usually wants a top up mid afternoon, late teatime and at bedtime (3am) so i can live with that for now. we also try to do skin to skin for an hour every morning too.

That's great Bev! We were topping up every feed. It is so much easier to not have to deal with bottles. If today goes well, I think I will put them away
