Has anyone had their levels taken in or around 9 weeks?
I had a blood draw 2 weeks ago at 9 weeks and my levels are 50.1
My GP called back today and seemed to be quite concerned they are too low.

I was started on Cyclogest when I got my bfp due to previous MC. He now wants to increase it - I'm okay with that.

I had a scan today and baby is perfect and right on track with growth.

But curious if anyone else had levels taken, is my doc over cautious? Or do you think there is real cause for concern.

I haven't but wanted to say yay to seeing baby again today! Bet you're chuffed everything is looking good!!

I had mine taken as the reason I had two MC was due to low progesterone, they up'd mine twice and I took it up to 15weeks(the placenta takes over after that!)

Hope that helps? X

Do you know what your levels were bronze?
I would assume 50.1 was good for 9 weeks. Doc doesn't seem to think so.

I've suffered from mmc at 7w and 15w.

My 1st blood count was only 4 so has come up alot.

No sorry hun, I was private and didn't really ask just did what I was told! X

Thank you xx

Picking your brains again...Did your symptoms get a bit worse with ever tine the put up the dosage?

I had RMC and progesterone always seemed to be on low side. I think my levels were about 50 but that was really early on around 4 weeks? They haven't measured levels in my last 2 (successful) pregnancies, but just gone for giving me 200mg progesterone suppositories to take twice daily.

I found that the bloating was always awful on the progesterone, but it didn't make much difference to other symptoms.

Good luck

Mmm...and at 9weeks i was only at 50.
Fx it this double dose raises it quickly

Ive had 3 mc in a row and Ive never even tested for this! Is it something they do in the UK if you have had previous mc?
Im really annoyed, my hospital said they have tested me for everything they possibly can, but I keep hearing of tests like this that Ive never been offered :-(

My gp tested me for it after previous mc.
It wad just done in his office as soon as I fell pregnant again. Levels were too.low to support a pregnancy. So was started on help.

There's lots of controversy over progesterone hence the variation. Some specialists think that if the levels are low then mc is "inevitable", others think its good to support a pregnancy as much as possible. The evidence is not strong either way, but there is no suggestion that progesterone treatment harms, which is why I wanted to go that route. It was only because I asked that I got!

Tilliewoo, if you've had a good scan, I wouldn't overthink the progesterone level. It won't do any harm to have a higher dose, and its great that your doc is being proactive.

He is amazing thankfully. He potters about in fertility issues. So i struck gold getting him.

Yes they did hun, I got more tired, tearful, irritable! I went up to 1000mg per day! Hope that helps xx

Its like I'm living on the edge of a knife these days. Lol

Up now to 1000mg. So hopefully that helps.

I promise it gets better pretty much as soon as you stop taking it! I'm 37 +2 now and have felt great since stopping x

Oh good. At what stage did they take you off it?
Sorry for the million questions. X

I think it was around 12/14 weeks (sorry my memory is great at the moment!) it's when the placenta starts doing its job and the progesterone is no longer required. I was producing none which is why they put me on the pessary! Ask away!! X

That sounds good.
They think my last mc was as a result of it. Baby died at 13weeks but didn't find out until 15weeks.
Bloods to be chexked again tomorrow but takes 10days for the result to come back. Hopefully this double dosage does the trick this time x

It's pretty high and the guys in harley street were monitoring me every four days! The dose sounds pretty normal given your history (mine similar!) good luck x

Thanks so much bronze. Your advice is very reassuring.
.2 days on higher dosage. Boobs so sore I need to wear a sports bra, mood is terrible, poor hubby ready to have me locked up somewhere, and the exhaustion. ..omg I could sleep around the clock.
