Problems with food again!!

Well the macaroni didn't go too well, think her teeth are playing up. She had a couple of the pasta bits and that was it :( x

Dont worry about it, she still gets what she needs from milk and thats what blw is all about, them having control. It takes on average 10 trys of food before a person adult or child likes it so dont give up maybe next time she will eat more x

Well she's just had 3 whole toast fingers and didn't gag once :) so I'm pleased with that x

Thats fab hun! Ethan loves his buttered toast fingers, one of his faves!! If u r happy just keep going with it- she will pick it up and sounds like she is happier doing it herself too! Go Angel!! :)

Well it's been very successful so far I must admit. Last night she had broccoli and cheese muffins with some extra broccoli florets and tonight she had breaded chicken strips (homemade), sweet potato sticks, a few bits of my pasta lol and an apple and raspberry fool (homemade) and she ate loads! I couldn't believe it. I'll admit I still get panicy and being really honest I'm still not 100% comfortable with it but I'm happy that she's eating and that she seems happy doing it xx

Great to hear its going well, It will get easier. Your doing great.

Hun, I still freak when Ethan gags but everytime he does it he sorts himself out and I don't have to do anything except pat his back sometimes- I think the more u go with it the more u trust that they can cope with it! And BTW, u sound like a great cook to me making it all from scratch! Sounds yummy! We just bought the Gill Rapley blw book after someone lent it to us and am hoping to do more cooking from scratch now I have it! Today I'm trying toad in the hole! Fx it isn't a disaster- I'm not renowned for my cooking! Lol! X

Thanks ladies :) when I do relax and have fun with it it definitely reflects on Angel a lot more than I thought :) she is having some roast beef dinner in an hour or so, I roast it in a casserole type dish and it's been in for about 4 hours in stock (kallo low salt ones) will I be ok to give her some of the meat as it's been roasting in the stock? Also I've used pepper and season-all on my roast potatoes the season all has no salt at all, I assume thats ok to give with the pepper? She'll also have some green beans and baby corn for the first time so this'll be interesting hehe :p xx Mum2b I haven't always been a good cook lol when me and OH first moved in we could barely manage toast lol but I love it to be honest it's my time to myself and I crank on my iPod and shuffle around cooking hehe xx

Bit late to reply about the roast- hope she enjoyed it tho! Ethan enjoyed his toad in the hole :)

It sounds like your doing really well. I didn't BLW, for similar reasons to you i think it just panics me too much. I wonder when people say that their lo ate toast how they managed?! S has bit of my toast if i break it into little bits but i don't know if i could say here you go and watch. I'm a scaredy pants lol.

When you say broccoli and cheese muffins what do you mean? They sound great! (probably because of the word muffin lol!)

I know what you mean hun it was a route I really didn't wanna take, I have nothing against it but I panic far too much for my own good and thought it'd make Angel tense too but if this is the only way she'll eat I'm happy to go for it and it's a bit more relaxing for me now knowing she's enjoying it, has 4 teeth and she has a very good chewing action going on, still freaks me out when she gags sometimes but it's few and far between atm :)

They're just like savoury muffins hard to describe but they were yummy lol I'll try and find the recipe for ya :p x

Ohhh yes the recipe would be lovely! I'm always trying to think of new things for s but I'm not the most creative when it cones to food!

I haven't had chance to read all the thread but Sophie's doing the same :(! She will happily feed herself finger foods but isn't interested in food on a spoon unless she gets to play with a clean spoon at the same time?!

Hayley here's the recipe for the muffins Makes 12 regular or 24 mini muffins

200g broccoli (1 small – med head)
1 1/2 cups plain yoghurt (360 ml)
1/4 cup oil (olive or corn or your choice)
1 large egg
50g cheese (I use a bit more than 50g – prob nearly double the qty)
2 cups self-raising flour (225g)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup skimmed milk if required. (50 ml)

Preheat oven to 200 C or 190 for fan ovens. Put rack just below middle of oven.

Cook broccoli (boiled or steamed until tender).

Mix yoghurt, oil & egg well together. Ad broccoli and roughly crumble in blue cheese. Put mixture in food processor and pulse in short bursts until no large pieces of broccoli left. Try not to puree the broccoli but just chop it finely. (I do it all by hand. I chop the broccoli finely on a chopping board and mix everything by hand, Works equally well!)

Put flour & salt in a big bowl and mix together with a fork. Pour in the liquid mixture and begin to fold together. If you think the mixture looks too dry add the extra milk and fold JUST enough to combine. (The key is not to over-mix it – it should look pretty lumpy and unappetizing!)

Spray muffin tins with non-stick spray. Using two spoons divide the mixture evenly between the pans.

Bake for 12/15 minutes or until golden-brown and centres spring back when pressed. Let the muffins cool in the pans for 2-3 minutes before tipping out.

That's ok, I had a little munch and they're really nice xx

What I used to do with my little, I open up the yogurt infront of him and pretend am feeding him with it but give the other food it works for me...
