Hiya all. After having our 12 week scan this morning and finding out all is well with the little alien I'm very happy. Pictures were totally rubbish - worse than the 10 week one really but I'm not too bothered. Hubby would like to have had better ones and is a bit miffed so Iwas wondering what options there are to have others done.

Can you go to have a private scan just to get better pics?? Has anyone looked into one of these 3D/4D scan packages??

thats a shame about the pics

in glasgow you can have a private normal scan done for around £65 and that's over 10 weeks i think.

for 3d/4d depending on the package it starts about £120 and you have to be between 24/36 weeks..

i'm thinking about a 3d later on maybe, looks fab :) xxx

Hiya,

We weren't really impressed with our 12 weeks NHS scan so we booked a private BabyBond scan at 15+4 weeks which was amazing. They really took their time and we got 11 pictures, all of different things and the sonographer pointed out everything that was visible to us!

Here are our pics if you want to take a look; http://www.babymecham.com/babybond/index.html

We were so impressed we went back at 17+4 for another 2D scan and had a 20 minute scan and also got it on DVD this time. We were given a sneak peak of 4D too which is amazing, although still very early yet. We have another 4D booked for 15th December (our 20 week NHS anomoly scan is this friday). I highly recommend Babybond. Here is our DVD too if you fancy a look (the original is 18 mins long but we shortened this one for friends and family to 7 mins)

With my last pregnancy i had a 3d/4d scan at 26 weeks and it was really good i loved every miniute of it, and it was well worth the money!!!

Aww thanks for the posts girls - especially Debbie and Minime - your scan pics and dvd's are awesome. Will give this one some serious thought now. Once hubs sees those he'll be getting us booked in straight away :D

I was wondering about this as I don't think our hospital offers a 12 week scan, but, the worrier that I am, wants one as soon as possible.

We had a 4D one with our daughter and it was amazing! It cost us £160 and we needed to drive up to Sheffield (!) but they spent 3/4hr with us and we got to see her sticking out her tongue, yawning, stretching and snuggling up to the placenta. It was so sweet. We got a DVD and a plethora of pictures. They even printed out the best 10 for us.

They were very good as we didn't want to know the gender, so if she moved and might possibly have given us a glimpse, they switched back to 2D to reposition the sensor.

Highly recommended. Ours was done at http://www.babyview.co.uk/
