Hi everyone,
As some of you know I went for my 12 week scan last week and they said that although the baby looked fine, that I had a chromosomal abnormality chance of 1 in 243, which freaked me out totally. They were pretty unhelpful but did give me the options of CVS/16 week scan-amnio. I was pretty freaked out - firstly I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who was so supportive, it really made me feel better as this has never happened to any of our friends so I didnt really have anyone to talk to about it.
In the end we decided to get a second opinion and go for a private scan before going ahead with the CVS - I had it yesterday and the results were great - chances were 1 in 17,054!!!!
They seem to go into a lot more detail than the previous scan and took a lot more measurements, they also weren't in any rush. They were very supportive of the NHS and just said that from the pics I had taken with me the nuchal fold measurement could not have been taken accurately which is probs why it was such a high risk...
So all in all I am one very happy girlie and now we feel like we can tell people and get excited! The baby is due on 1st Jan 2012!
Thanks again for everyones advice - really appreciated it xxx
