I am so proud of myself today

- As I live in Spain and dont know too many people, I recently set up a group in my area for mums and toddlers and mums-to-be to meet every Monday at 10,30 am and today we met for the first time. It already has 15 members and is growing!

- DH and I went to our first (of four) antenatal class tonight and it was really good. We got tons of info (a bit scary) and met some really nice couples.

- We also spent the weekend painting shelves and wardrobe in baby room - can't wait to have it finished and put up some pics!

Anyway, its all action here and I feel as if everything is moving along now!! :D I cant wait for our baby boy to be born now. Sorry, just really wanted to write this, as it makes a change from me complaining about some pain or other!!

Anyone else feel like sharing their baby-prep progress??

Wow Ani! That's excellent! I bet you're thrilled with the turn out of the Mummy Meet! :cheer:

You're certainly getting prepared!

Nothing to report here I'm afraid! Just waiting... and waiting... and waiting...

:bored: x

Wow you sound really organised Ani :D

I have half done the nursery.

And bought nearly everything I need (got a shopping trip this thursday for some more things).

I still need to get my nesting instinct to kick in though :( I have a lot of cleaning and washing to do!

Aww great news that you're feeling better and making new friends :D I plan on joining an expectant mothers group once I'm on maternity and then hopefully mother a baby groups once a week just to get out of the house (and still attend my religious studies classes on a sunday - so I'll get 2 outings a week garunteed   lol)

I'm having second thought about our nursery
The carpets faded terricotta....the walls are old lady style pale pink and peach flowered wall paper...and the light shade a curtains are fairly mordern lilac

I was just gona slap on 2 jungle pictures I have on the wall near the cot and some winnie the pooh wall stickers (you know the massive ones like you get in doctors surgeries) on the opposite wall where there will be the most expanse of spcae because of the radiator.....but now I'm really not sure if it'll be too much :wall:
I'll probably still order them and maybe only use half of the stickers - they are meant to peel off without leaving any damage.

I originally wanted to paint over the wall paper but decided it was too much hassle. As the house is rented I need to be able to put it back to an 'adult' setting whenever we move out and I really like the lilac curtains but couldn't find a colour of paint that was boyish and yet would match to the carpet :wall:

Ani, thats great about the group - I lived in Cyprus for a year and although I loved every minute it can be difficult meeting new people so you should be proud of yourself doing something so proactive!!

We have bought nothing and haven't even started on the spare room!! Everytime I look on the internet somethings out of stock and I get fed up with it so keep putting it off! We are building a room at the end of our garden to take all the stuff in our spare room (mainly gym equipment and craft stuff as I make cards) so until thats finished which will probably be atleast another 3-4 weeks we cant even think about the spare room :(
I would like to start getting a few bits though to feel like I am getting somewhere.

Gem x

Great idea and what a turn out for the social group!

I have brought some paint to do LO cot in as its an old one from freecycle, should look fab once transformed. I stomped (well waddled) round Ikea to find some drawers and all the ones I liked were too expensive to justify buying so have given up!

We got a second-hand cot too and we painted it over the weekend (well I did  ) a lovely grey-blue colour. It looks FAB, you won't know the cot once it has had a coat of paint!
