Hello all,

My 3 year old George has finally started using the potty. He uses it every time he needs a wee or poo, so proud of him....but there is a problem. He refuses to sit on the potty without his pants! If he is wearing trousers he will not pull them down, he will just wee through them and so most days he is in the house in just his pants.

When we try to get him to sit with a naked bottom he absolutely refuses......

Any advice? We really are clueless where to go from here.

My little boy was never a 'sitter' so we never had this problem, but potty training did take a while. Have you tried him at standing over the potty, or on a step with the main toilet? I got my little boy a lightening mcqueen seat set and it seemed to help encourage him. Sorry I can't be more help!

Ahhh we have the problem of saying he needs the loo then just sitting pretending as he watches me. He likes to wipe etc.

One day he wipes his arm pits after, not sure who he seen that from

As mentioned, the main toilet would perhaps be good? We have a potty thats a step too, amd we have a toilet seat adapter like a smaller seat thats potty shaped but goes inside. Can get the round toilet seat adaptor but the potty shaped ones may help him transition to the toilet easier?

Also Ive heard little pingpong ball is good to help train to pee standing in the big toilet and you make it into a game and spray the ball... A few people have told me this one but Jackson isnt really at that stage yet.

Keep trying hun. I dunno any adult that never got through potty training.

Well done on him using the potty when needed though. Clever boy.

xxxx
