Hello I'd really appreciate some advice.

I'm coming up towards my 20 week scan. Unfortunately my husband will be away when it happens - but he's back exactly a week later. Would there be any reason why I shouldn't postpone my scan for 1 week? That would make it a 21 week scan...

I haven't had any health problems (touch wood, so far!) so no reason to worry particularly about anything, other than the general pregnancy fretting!

my 20 week scan was at 21 weeks and that was because oh wouldn't make it - no-one said anything to me

I'm having my scan next Friday and I'll be a day off being 21 weeks. I can't see them having a problem.

Thanks guys. I think I will postpone it. Having my husband there will outweight having to wait for another week!

i will be 21w and 2d when i have mine on the 4th of august :D

im sure it will be fine, i was nearly 22 weeks when i had mine with my 4th

Mine was 21 weeks too. It'll be fine.

Cant see there being a problem with it but they're booked a good few weeks in advance so i'd ring up asap so try and get one for the week after.

Ill be on holiday when my 20 week scan is due, so I wont be having mine to nearer 21 weeks.

I wouldnt have thought there would be any problems at all.

I'll be 21+4 when I have my anomaly scan - that's when the sonographer said she wanted it (she specifically said she wanted 21+ ) so I don't see any reason why delaying it would cause any problems. And it would be so much nicer for you and your OH for you both to be there. :)

Hiya

I have just done exactly the same thing. I was supposed to have my 20 week scan last thurs but my OH was working away and realised he wouldnt get back in time (unless he drove for hours on end!!!), so I rang the hospital to rearrange the appointment. The lady I spoke with was quite snotty with me on the phone because the scans need to be carried out between 20 & 22 weeks, she said she probably wouldnt have another appointment so I said if she couldnt change it then my partner would drive home but asked her to check for me. Anyway she checked the system and said there was an appointment available for this thurs so I managed to change it. There was no need for her attitude as Im still able to have the scan at 21 weeks!! So as long as you have the scan between weeks 20 & 22 it is apparently ok. Good luck xx
