At most of you probably know we're putting CJ into his own room tonight - but I just have a few queries that I'd like you girls advice on!

I think he could have mild reflux as he was sick several times last night. We've got him on Aptamil at the moment, but I'm going to try him on C&G Comfort....

He's incredibly noisy when he's asleep. He drops off and he's all nice and quiet and then within about 10 mins he's making this really weird rattly, gagging noise - like he's trying to clear his throat and it's all full of Phlegm (sorry TMI!). When I check him he's still asleep.

He's also a total fidgit throughout the night along with the grunting and gagging.

When he's sleeping in the day in his bouncy chair he's lovely and peaceful - we've raised the cot mattress at one end in case he's lying a bit flat and it's making him snore.

Have any of your babies been that noisy?? It's a horrible sound!!

Does this sound like it could be reflux? He's very unsettled at night in his cot and especially after feeding!! He's been posseting for a while, but last night he was sick after every feed!

Yes, Tom is REALLY noisy at night when he's asleep. Half the time I think he's awake but he's not...he's fast asleep but just making noises like a Pterodactyl!
The HV said that some babies are just noisy sleepers. I use earplugs now which are about enough to block out the grunts but you still hear the crying.

hi my daugther Liberty had reflux really bad she could be sick up tp 6 times a day. She didn't make the noises you are describing. But to ombat the reflux at night i used to put a thick book at the head end of the cot to keep everything down. IN the end the doctor put her on gaviscon sachets and i also put her on sma stay down it is quite expensive but it did work.
The good about the stay down milk was that you weren't allowed to heat it up and you had to add the milk when the baby needed feeding you couldn't make them up in advance.
All i can say is that when she was sick with the reflux it was awful she would bring up a whole bottle in one go and it would flow out like a fountain. It took sevreal visits to the doctor before they gave me anything but if you are concerned perhaps try the stay down milk and see how you get on.
I hope that helps

ps. Libby just grew out of the problem and evcentually she went back on to normal sma

It sounds like mild reflux to me. Jacob used to make those flemy, rattly throat noises when he was on his back. We have been tilting his cot, keeping him upright for 20 minutes after each feed and using infant gaviscon and that seems to control it. He hasn't been sick for a while now (touch wood!).

It sounds like fluid coming back up their throat and just sitting there doesn't it. It's horrible! Bless them!
