but went out last night and had a few drinkies, so had to 'pump and dump' for the first time this morning. Well I have never felt so bad! I got 6oz from each boob and it all had to go down the drain :( I just feel like my body works so hard to provide it and I went and spoiled it!!
Not worth it, so decided to give up alcohol, doesn't bother me that much anyway tbh :)

I done the same once Hun and i was so gutted i didn't drink after that! hope you had a good night i was meant to be out tonight went at 6.30pm But OH rang me just after 8 as Tegan wouldn't settle so Im home again! xx

Aww! Hopefully you'll get another chance soon, it's quite nice being out and just 'yourself' for a while :)
I didn't go out until Lizzie was in bed cos OH is a bit soft and won't stick to her routine - if she stirred he'd happily bring her back downstairs and start playing with her again!

I read somewhere that you dont need to dump the milk after a certain time (can't remember how long). Maybe 2-3 hours? The alcohol will leave your milk. And even if you fed your baby after drinking, only a very small minute amount will be in your milk anyway. Must find that article cos I can't explain it lol

Found this:
You say that you want to go out and have a couple drinks and mention pumping and dumping. You should know that alcohol in your milk doesn't remain there. It works the same as it does in your blood. Once the alcohol is out of your blood, it's also out of your milk. So only pump if you are going to miss a couple of nursings and want to keep up your supply or to relieve any engorgement you might have while you are away from your baby. You can also pump before you drink if you want to have some milk on hand to feed your baby if you feel like you're still going to be intoxicated at the next feeding. Don't think you have to do it because alcohol is going to stay in your milk long after you've been drinking. You don't have to get rid of any milk. It doesn't work that way.

Hmmm...that may be true but I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable feeding Lizzie after drinking anyway, just doesn't feel right! Thanks though, maybe I'll not be so worried if I'm just gonna have a beer or two in the future :)

I heard that they base it on 1 unit takes 1-2 hours to get out of system.... xx
