Hi,

Can anybody tell me if the new pneumenococcol jab is administered in one course of jabs or two?

i was told by my old doctors it was one but i was then told today that Colby will be getting another one soon as shes under 2

im fonfussed :?

I'm confused too.

Normally it's a jab at 2 months and another at 4 months and yes another later on when they're 15 months old.

But Isaacs had his first pnuemenococcol jab when he went for the 2nd course of the others. I remember them saying that I had to go back at the end of Nov for the 2nd course. My MIL took him today as she has him on a thursday for me and they're adamant that he's had both courses which would have meant that he had both courses on the same day!

So today they've given him a jab for pneumonia or something?!

I just had the 16wk jabs and was told I don't need to gack until she is 1 year old?

Harley had his a few months back they said i would get a appointment through for his 2nd one in a month or so its been a while now still not heard any thing :?

Phoned the docs, he did have the 2nd course of it today. Think we were referring to it by different names and so we've confused ourselves.

She said you defo need two courses of it and they have to be 2 months apart. They have a booster at 15 months ish.

If you haven't had the 2nd course I'd phone your docs.

What a confusion :?

i had a post up too about that too cant find it though but think its only been about 6 weeks ago colby had hers

she has to go for an assesment in 2 weeks to bereferred to teh hospital for her wee eye so im gong to mention it to them then

xxxxxxxx

my nurse never said it will be in two jabs!!

thats really annoying cos Ellis wasnt very well at all with that! xxxx

Isabelle had hers on Weds with her 4 month ones (poor mite, 3 jabs in one session!) and the nurse told me she didn't get anymore until her 12 months MMR one???

Am very confused now?

maybe different doctors do it different :?
just wish they all done it the same way that way we all knew what we were doing, im sooooooo confussed by it all
the thing that worrys me is incase they overdose it i know i shouldnt but it has happend in the past with different injections

sorry i dont want to worry anyone im just a worry wart
but im going to ask the doc in 2 weeks when im down i want to know for sure what Colbys still to get and wont be leaving till i know for sure :shakehead:

Aaron only had one at 13 months and was told he wouldn't need anymore. My niece has had two though so I think it depends on the age of the baby.

they sent me a letter saying Harleys second load is this friday i have said no way i am not having him really poorly again and not all over xmas. so its the following friday instead now. wonder when Diors is going to be, its going to be soooo much Harder getting her done ans she is older now and wil go mad

Ellis had his second one last thursday. He was a bit off and clingy for a week but not nearly as bad as last time.

But i agree dionne i wouldnt want that over crimbo xxxx

Alastair has he 1st jabs 4 weeks ago and he was fine, he is having his 2nd 2morrow but after reading some posts im worried as i dont want him ill over xmas :?

should i cancel it for 2morrow just incase???
