hi everyone,

im 33, myself and husband have recently started try for a baby (26/12/17).

since then I have l had a vast amount of changes to my body and how i feel... I will explain below lol.

period was due on 26/12/17 but was late by 9 days (4/01/18).. this period was different ... it lasted 2 days (im always 5 days) was very very light .. followed by small amounts of blood in the days after.

since we started started to ttc (have unprotected sex) my sex drive has been through the roof.. I am always horny and very very wet down below.

i even went to the doctors to see why I was so wet down below (I thought it might of been thrush, but the doc did a test and the results came back as satisfactory).

I have been feeling various changes to my body ... from what a could only assume to be pregnancy symptoms.

cramps in the morning or evening (this was after the late period, for about 5 days)
breasts have grown and feel heavy.
night sweats between 28/12/17 and 6/01/18
increased sex drive (still)
tired
bloated
constipated.

so, I did a home pregnancy test today (27/01/18), first thing in the morning, but the result came back as negative.

I am very confused, can anyone give me some advice?

could the late period of been implantation bleeding? if so surly the hpt I did today should of been positive?

I'll keep checking back to see if any of you lovely people can help.

Thanks in advance x

If you started having unprotected sex the day your last period was due Id day it's unlikely you're pregnant, unless you ovulated super late.

Are your cycles usually regular and on time? xx

hi, my cycle is normally regular, this is why I'm so confused.
thankyou for the reply x

I would book a doctors appointment.

I'm in the same position - 8 days late now and I don't like to think about how much money I've wasted on pregnancy tests (all negative). I was driving myself insane reading various articles online. Even went as far as reading medical literature to try and find out if I was pregnant! Took me far too long to realise that Google wasn't going to tell me whether or not I was pregnant!!

I was a bit worried the doctor would be dismissive and ask me to come back in a few weeks if still no period. By this time I was only 5 days late. She was brilliant though and took me seriously - I told her I knew what was normal for me and something, pregnancy or not, was up. She told me for some women hcg docent show up in urine at All, only blood (though I can't find any hard evidence online to back this up). I get my blood results Tuesday and honestly the day can't come soon enough!

I know how stressful the wondering can be. And you'll probably keep stressing until you know for sure. So book that appointment! Good luck x

thank you so much for the advice and good luck with your result xx

Sounds like you didn't ovulate in the last cycle - or your ovulated really late for some reason. If you didn't have unprotected sex two weeks before your period was due, you weren't pregnant then. Not ovulating would also explain the weird period and the cramps afterwards. Now, this cycle, your body should have ovulated as normal (so probably around day 14-16 of your cycle). So if you ovulated around the 18-20th of Jan a HPT probably won't be positive yet as you're not even late. You could be pregnant :) were you on birth control before trying? Coming off birth control can cause all of your pregnancy like symptoms, as your hormones are trying to readjust themselves.
