please help, tax credits shannigans

im so confused by the whole thing ive got a 4month old and just filling in the forms we have a combined income of 40 thousand two hundreish....would i be entitled to anything? plus my income is obviously lower at the moment as im on maternity leave yet they go on last years income?? confuuuuuuuuuuused please help also...the childcare part ....do i have to let them know about childcare costs by phone when i go back to work as i dont know the exact costs it will be when i fill the form in now as im still on mat leave.....THANKS FOR YOUR HELP =D much appreciated!!!!x

oo and btw ive used the onlince calculator...it just confuses me as do the phone helpines ......they say differing things

You fill it in as your circumstances are now, then call with changes like childcare later in the year.
