I was suppose to go to a pelvic pain group last week. But I was in triage and had to miss it....so have to wait until 8th May now :(

Mine is just a group though....They say they will tell us how to manage it, talk about PURCHASING ( :x  :rotfl: ) a maternity strap....and if you then feel it has not helped, we MAY get one on one physio.....

Good luck at yours Sandi:) Hope it helps

Sorry :rotfl: :rotfl:

Last time I went she talked to me for 15 mins and has never given me an exercise. We could have had a discussion over the phone, however, on the other hand it allowed me to sneak to the shops before going back to work! :cheer:

Er, has she assessed you properly? How come she's never given you an exercise? I'm not a specialist in this area but sounds like you'd come away from me with a bit more than just a discussion  and no you wouldn't come away from me in pain :rotfl: well maybe just a little bit...

Oh and I mean to say good luck for tomorrow sandi, most of us are nice really

Hi

The first session she just asked me loads of questions and I gave her the solutions  e.g I thought I would buy a v-shaped pillow to sleep with (that sounds dubious).... and she insisted in giving me a crutch and last time she just said how's things and advised me on the benifits of breast feeding like that's physio! I really felt like :moon:

I work in Birmingham I note you are from west midlands...just curious, which hospital did you go for physio? I don't have anything to do with antenatal physios so I don't know any of them, I'm just curious lol

I am from Birmingham Too. Am registered with Birmingham Womens Hospital. Haven't been to my session yet, as I was admitted last froday when I should have been there. So got to wait until 8th May. :(

Are you at the ROH? Actually, don't answer that, as you may get an internet stalker :)

Should have said I am at City Hospital!!! Dammit!!! :)

....

Yay my very own first internet stalker  :rotfl:

I have heard really good things about the women's hospital and I know that if after the group session they haven't helped I know that the one to one sessions are beneficial and they are very good. Though I thought they gave out the straps and not that you have to buy them... maybe if you decided you needed one you could get one from midwife or GP free??

Moofa, that's funny you giving her the solutions :rotfl: maybe you should be a physio  you wouldn't like that though would ya!! But...breast feeding...physio...what?! :wall:

...! :rotfl:

I hope physio works for you. I had really bad SPD and unfortunately, 6 weeks on after giving birth it is REALLY bad :( I thought it would improve but I feel worse then ever in the mornings now. It sucks!

Hi, it did go well, she showed me a different way to get in and out of bed and also what muscles to brace when standing up. She gave me some of theat stretch tube bandage to wear to try and keep the rightside of my pelvis more into the centre.

She said i didn't need a hip strap as i wasn't to bad, but to call again if i did and they would fit me with one.

I have to really up the pelvic floor and also squeeze my butt heaps to sprenghen the muscles in that area to help.
