Period when breast feeding

Does it happen? I stopped bleeding at 5 weeks. Today I've been having very mild cramping but appear to be spotting brown blood. My doc said at my post natal check on thurs that as I am ebf that I wouldn't have period yet. Confused.

Hey hun, I had periods while ebf, from about 2 months in (i think!) I know it was practically straight away anyway so it can happen ... Sorry!!

I'm ebf and have had a period although it was a bit erratic in flow changing from spitting to flow then back to spotting x

I'm ebf and have just had a period at 11 weeks after birth so it can definitely happen. apparently it's more likely to happen if your baby has started to go for longer periods without feeding like 6 or 7 hours overnight etc.

That's wen it happened. Also co/incidentally started mini pill at same time.

I was just coming on to ask the exact same question! Little one is 6 weeks old and I have only recently stopped spotting but this morning I woke up and I am properly bleeding like a period. I have just put I down to it being a period even though I wasn't expecting it with breastfeeding.
