Just got my first period after birth. I had a hemorrhage and retained placenta. My period is really really heavy, I'm changing pads every hour and just got a shower, dried myself and blood was all over the towel. It feels like its dripping out of me, even when sitting down. This is the first day. Is this normal? I'm so paranoid after what happened to me :-/

Mine was very heavy, I didn't have retained placenta but I did have a massive heammorage, I went to docs coz I was just randomly bleeding here there and everywhere! They said it was normal but I would get it checked out to put your mind at ease!
Xxx

Thanks hun! Can I just ask, sorry for tmi but how heavy was yours? I'm changing the super pads at least every 2 hours :-/ it's so horrible having a hemorrhage I'm constantly worried its happening again :-/ gonna speak to doctor tomorrow but its definitely become worse today so not sure what to do, would I call labour dept? Or just a&e?? Lol feel so clueless

Yeah it was that heavy for a good few days, it was odd coz I normally have very light periods so I wasn't really prepared! I just made an emergency appointment at the docs but if they are closed then try out of hours doctors or a&eit is prob nothing but it will putout mind at ease!

I was a LOT heavier after retained placenta. I was freaking out too because I was just so paranoid that it was happening all over again... Go to the docs to get checked if your worried but mine was v. heavy for a few days before it started to get better. My last period was lighter than pre pregnancy though so there is light at the end of the tunnel!xx
