Hi all,

So yesterday I gave my nearly 9 month old boy peanut butter (organic smooth) for the 2nd time. And pretty quickly he got red skin around one of his eyes (also a bit on other eye) with a nettle like rash (this part lasted around half an hour). The health visitor was here at the time so felt like a bad mum! Anyway it's still a bit red today and ever so slightly swollen on his eye lid. Google tells me allergy which I'm obviously hoping it's not. Just wondered if any of you ladies had experience of this? Have docs this morning for him.

Thanks xx

My niece has a cashew nut allergy and gets the red eyes, randomly peanuts don't cause a reaction. Pirton seems to clear it up for her x

It does sound likely that its an allergy. The second time a baby had a new food is a clasic time for them to react. The first time their body doesnt recognise the food. The second time it has had a chance to (falsely) decide its an invader and attack it, which causes the symptoms.
