Seems to be the choice of starter at my sisters wedding. Prawn Cocktail or Pate......I'm not really fussed for either but which one would be better? I will end up just looking at it thinking "ooo its pretty" but I will have to eat at least some of it for politeness. Am I allowed Prawns? I know Pates not too good but I have never eaten either at a meal so which one comes with greenary that I could eat just so it looks like I'm eating?
i have been eating cooked prawns, both will probably come with salad, the pate should come with toast as well so you would probably have more to nibble on!
Wouldn't prawn cocktail be uncooked prawns? I have taken the chance on prawns, it's not like they'll cause untold damage, it's incase they have a lurgy or something, right? It's totally your choice but I'd have the prawn cocktail.
I'm uneducated on this stuff! Hahaaa yeh main course looks alright I'm going to have the veggie option though because the other one is turkey or Beef roast but I wont eat half the veggies that come with it like I will the veggie one its tomato and cheese tart or something! (they also have hog roast in the evening so I wont starve!)
yeah raw prawns are grey, I've never heard of anyone eating raw prawns.
I'd go with the prawns because you're not supposed to eat them in case they're off, but the pate you're not supposed to eat because of high levels of vitamin A or something? So pate is a definite no-go whereas prawns are perfectly safe to eat as long as they're fresh.
Pate is a no no apparently. I have not gone near the stuff even though I love it.
Raw prawns are grey, cooked prawns are pink. Dont eat the tail if they are not peeled on the tail edge - that is harmful apparently as it has sharp bits and not easily digested. I have been eating prawns throughout my pregnancy but never from a buffet or something that seems to have been left out for longer than 5-10 minutes from chilled state...for example - been adviced it is better to eat frozen (cooked from frozen) prawns because we know there is no way of the meat being contaminated. With prawns in salad and prawn cocktail they should be cold and not in and out of fridge - if they have been left at room temperature then my MW has said its not to be consumed.
I have been a nightmare at restaurants but I have mentioned everywhere - I am pregnant, are the prawns fresh or frozen? Have they been left out or cooked straight etc.
I think I might just put me down for prawns.....I dont really like either pate is a bit yucky to me and prawns wellllll......I wont explain hahaa! Lets just say Im not keen on them. I'll put my oh down for Pate haha if it looks like it has more other stuff for eating then Ill steal some for my plate and give my Big brother the prawns....hes a prawn freak!
