hello, I’m 7+5 today and my doctor just called to let me know a virus I had earlier in pregnancy was parvovirus (slap cheek)

He explained it can cause miscarriage and have an effect on pregnancy so I’ve been referred to obstetrics.

I’m so upset. This is my 5th pregnancy and only one has been successful so far.

Does anyone have any experience of this? X

Sorry no experience but just looked on the nhs website and it says most people have normal healthy pregnancies and that complications can happen if the baby is exposed to it between 9-20 weeks. I’m sure this won’t stop you from panicking but it sounds very positive and like there is a good chance your baby will be fine. Everything crossed for you tomorrow x
