Morning ladies!!

I'm throwing a 1st birthday party tomorrow for H and decided to take the laid back party approach by saying to guests invited that its not a kids party but more just a family friends gathering so people can see H. I told them I'm laying on a Buffett and to come around anytime after 1am and ill keep topping up the food fresh every so often so people can come later if it suits or even tea time.

Now, I'm going shopping today and im stuck as to what the hell to buy!! I live near Costco but I'm only having no more than 30 guests so I'm thinking Costco may leave me with to much food.. So I thought Tesco? But what the hell do I buy lol!

I know it all sounds so simple but I've never done anything like this before and I'm the worlds worst planner! I couldn't arrange a piss up in a brewery!!

Help!! Give me food ideas ladies!

What would you expect to eat if you was invited?

I love laying on a buffet! This would be what my shopping list looked like:

Bread rolls- Ham, Egg Mayo, Cheese, Salmon (tinned)
Pizza
Quiche
Sausage rolls
Cheese on sticks with pickled onion and pineapple chunks
Cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, red onion slices, beetroot slices
Coleslaw & potato salad
Dips
Breadsticks/ cheese straws
Cocktail sausages
Crisps
Garlic bread

Then a couple of gateaux, cheesecakes etc for dessert.

Dont forget to buy paper plates, napkins, clingfilm to cover

For drinks- Coke, Lemonade, wine, beer, tea, coffee, orange juice :)

That's so helpful thank you so much!

Writing my shopping list now and copying your ideas!

I have a slow cooker too and was thinking of cooking a Chilli Con Carne... But then I thought... I won't be able to make rice fresh will I! Scrap that idea! Told you my ideas suck lol d

WSS

Plus I had chicken bites, wedges, onion rings etc for warm food as it was freezing when I did Ella's party!

Lots of little cupcakes

Have fun! X

Thanks Jo, added those to my list too. I bought a cupcake stand in the shape of a castle so cupcakes are a definite! X

Tesco have a huge range of frozen party food that takes 15 - 20 mins to cook, so make sure you look in the freezer section!

If you are keeping food on the go all day I think it's easier to do something like chilli on the go rather than buffet. You could serve with jacket pots and tortilla chips. Or at youngest's christening we just did beef stew with crusty bread, then cheese board, Costco cake and fruit salad

Jacket potatoes are a fab idea!! Thanks hun! Added that to my list!
I was thinking of just keep topping up with fresh butties and crisps and salad etc , not sure if I have enough room in my fridge for all this lol! I'm so unprepared! X
