Painful sex after C Section?

Hi ladies,


I had a C section 13 weeks ago, and still haven't managed sex. We have tried about 3 times, but it's like it burns, and feels, well, raw! (sorry if TMI!). Has anyone else experienced this? I can't understand it, as I didn't have a vaginal delivery, and was kind of expecting it all to be normal down there!
We have tried lubricant but that seems to make it worse to be honest.

It's starting to get me down as it's been such a long time since we had sex, the last time was probably a month before I gave birth, so I'd really like to get back into the swing of it, but I'm just so scared as the pain was unbearable!

Anyone else had similar experiences?

Right hun, it doesn't sound normal by now you should be able to be having sex on a regular basis. If i was you i'd go to the doctor and explain, they might end up doing tests or send you to a sexpert. x x x

I would agree about going to your GP and discussing it. However just to let you know I too naively thought down below would be normal after my c section. I couldn't have been more wrong. I too found sex very painful at first, it all felt far too tight! I'd say that it was probably 5-6 months before normal service was resumed and all feels normal now. DH was very patient and gentle with me which helped. Just get it checked out to be sure

Yes go to ur GP. I had c section and we DTD 2-3 weeks after, it did hurt a little bit as we didn't do it during pregnancy at all, but after that first time it felt fine. Xx

Tried again last night (hadn't tried for a few weeks!) and it wasn't as bad, I wonder if the fear of it was making it worse, as last night I was feeling much more relaxed!
I'm still going to mention it to my GP, as it was still painful, but nowhere near as bad xx

We dtd the other night for the first time since having Harry just over 8wks old. It was soon painful, I couldn't believe how horrible it was! I had a section too, hoping the next time is a bit better although I'm now scared of it really hurting again and it is putting me off trying xx

Yes this was my prob, I was scared to try it again! Only tried 4 times in 3 months! It's so weird I don't get why it hurts so much! x

I am having this problem now and I had a c section 21 months ago. Since then nothing has been right and I get burning pain intermittently thoroughout the day when not dtd am currently being referred to a specialist as we keep finding blood in urine too but we did when I was pregnant so could be more long term but go speak to your gp you could have a slight infection that some antibiotics would clear it up x
