For a couple of days now I have been experiencing painful ribs and it tends to ache from what feels like pressure from within. Could it be because I'm getting bigger that everything is getting squashed in my ribcage? If so, am I likely to feel this way until he drops down a bit? I can't get comfortable as it all aches. Has anyone else had this and found anything to relieve it?

 If your like me the only thing that helps is wiggleing lots haha I cant sit still I have to keep sitting up really straight or standing up. I sympathize though its sooooo annoying being uncomfy all the time.

Could be this

Rib flare
This problem is due to the growing baby pushing the ribs out of their normal position. Try to change position frequently. Avoid sitting on low chairs and in other positions that bring your ribs close to your pelvis. You may get temporary relief by lifting the arm on the affected side and bending sideways away from the ache. Sitting cross-legged (tailor fashion) with your hands on your head also gives some relief.

I also had quite a sore spot which had become inflamed where Bambino was kicking in the same place all the time. Trying to stretch out helped - by laying flat usually.

I wouldn't say I have pain, but defo uncomfortable sometimes if he decides to be wriggling high up and just staying there.

I tend to have a little play around with him and readjust myself, else I find myself a fair bit breathless.

I would say it's where things have all been squished up, but if it becomes serious pain more than just an ache, defo mention to MW

Oooh yes that is it, thanks Tadpole :D I do find that moving/fidgeting helps for a bit like you said too Nicki. And lifting up my arm does strangely seem to help too.

Yeah I think pain is the wrong work to describe it, definitely more of an ache/uncomfy thing like you've described Lu.

Thanks girls, I feel better knowing I'm not alone and that it is a normal thing :D

As others have said its probably because everything is squashed up. I get like this at times and at the moment its all in my hips and back and like you I can't get comfortable, its impossible!
Hope you feel better soon

I get it pretty badly, only where the feet are on left side of my ribs. It's not comfortabkle at all but as some of the others have suggested stretching upwards and lifting your arm on the side it's painful seems to help as does getting on all fours (not greta if your out and about  )

ive been getting this too, its worse when im sitting up so i think its just baby pushing on them, much better if standing or laying down, not very nice tho :(

Glad it isn't just me :D But  to the rest of you too!

Nope you're definitely not alone. I've had pain and discomfort for a few months now and it can be really depressing. I also get really sore and itchy on the top of my bump which causes me to lose sleep. I've found a cream that really does help, I buy it from boots and it's called mediterranean olive chamomile wheat germ pregnancy wonderbalm. It's quite expensive about £3.00 for a very small tube of the stuff but it goes quite far as it's quite rich and it's also in my oppinion worth every penny. It's the only thing i've found that helps sooth.
